Austin City Budget & Street Improvements 1870

32 Council Room Monday November the 7th 1870 City Council met pursuant to adjournment His Honor Leander Brews Mayor in the Chair, Roll called, and the following Named Aldermen answered to their names, (viz) Alderman Bennett, Palms, Raven, Remilke, Collins and Fox Minutes of the last meeting October the 8th were read and adopted Sextons report for the month of October was read, showing 13 deaths, 5 adults and 8 children The Annual Reports from His Honor the Mayor, from the Assessor and Collector and City Treasurer were presented, and also their Reports for the quarter ending the 20th of October were presented read and passed to the Finance Committee The following appropriations were asked for. Mayor Salary for the 4 quarter of 1870 125 00 Room Rent (the Mayors office) 45 00 City Sextons sal[illegible] 4th quarter of 1870 25 00 City Marshal Salary for October 1870 50 00 Policeman W. W. Fletcher October 40 00 do W. B. Hilty do 40 00 For feeding Prisoners 33 50 For taking care of Engine 6 00 Porter hire for four months 12 00 Removing dead Animals 20 00 Salary of the Assessor & Collector for 3 months 125 00 £ 531 50 Which on motion, seconded, the roll being called, the appropriation was made by a unanimous Vote. The City Sexton rendered an account for work made in the Cemetery for $27.50 Specie account, being approved by the City Committee on Cemetery, it was Moved and Seconded, that the appropriation be made to pay said Amount --- Page break --- 33 The Roll being called, and the appropriation made by a unanimous Vote On Motion, the Council adjourned until its next Regular Meeting.
