Davis Governor of the State of Texas, reposing special trust and full confidence in the loyalty, integrity and ability of Homer H. Gleason by virtue of the authority vested in me by the Constitution and Laws of said State, constitute and appoint him the said Homer H. Gleason Mayor of the the City of Austin Travis County in said State of Texas, giving and hereby granting to him the said Gleason all the rights privileges and emoluments appertaining to said office In Testimony Whereof, I have hereunto set my name and caused the Great Seal of the State to be affixed at the City of Austin the 31st day of January One Thousand Eight Hundred and Seventy one, and the Independence of Texas the Thirty fifth C.S.
