On Motion of Alderman Wm Brueggerhoff the following Ordinance was Ordained Be It ordained by the City Council of the City of Austin Fres that hereafter It shall be lawful for the owner or his representative of any hack Carriage or other licensed Means of transportation to demand and receive the following fares For the conveyance of Each single passenger between any two points in the City Limits between the hours of 6 AM & 8 PM & 12 Midnight fifty Cents. second That persons desiring shall have the option of hiring any hack Carriage or other licensed Means of transportation by the hour at the following rates between the hours of 6 AM & 8 PM one dollar per hour and between the hours of 8 PM and 12 Midnight one dollar and fifty cents per hour Any owner or his representa tive who shall demand for such services greater pay than allowed in this and the preceding sections of this Ordinance shall be guilty of a Misdemeanor and be subject to a fine of not less than Three nor More than one hundred dollars Third That thereafter any driver of any hack Carriage or other licensed Means of transportation who shall be found at a greater distance than ten feet from his vehickle the same being hitched up ready for use shall be guilty of a Misdemeanor and subject to a fine of not less than three nor More than one hundred dollars Fourth That a printed copy of this Ordinance shall be caried by each licensed vehickle aforesaid posted in a conspicuous place for the inspection of the public and any licensed vehickle aforesaid which shall be found without such printed ordinance posted as aforesaid the driver or owner thereof shall be deemed guilty of a Misdemeanor and subject to a fine of not less than three nor More than one hundred dollars Fifth That hereafter every license granted to any vehickle described in this Act shall in addition to the regular number of said license have a special number plainly expressed within the body of said license which Special Number shall be painted upon a conspicuous place of the vehickle aforesaid and any vehickle as aforesaid which shall be found without such special Number so painted as aforesaid the driver or owner thereof shall be guilty of

Wheelock absent On motion of Alderman Brueggerhoff the following Ordinance was ordained Be it ordained by the City Council of the City of Austin First That the Yearly license for theatrical Exhibitions shall be two hundred and fifty dollars to be paid in advance as hereinafter provided by one fourth in Cash and shall execute his or their three promissory Notes with good and solvent security or sureties to be approved by the Mayor to pay the remaining three fourths of said sum in three equal payments at the commencement of each succeeding quarter of said year.
