City Council Rooms, Octr. 7th 1872
The City Council met at its regular monthly Meeting Present: His Honor, Col. J. W. Glenn, Mayor in the Chair. The Roll being called, the following Aldermen answered to their names: Aldermen W. Brueggerhoff Henry Madison J. H. Robinson E. M. Wheelock Henry Willis. Absent: Aldermen J. L. Duaas. R. Bertram S. Messina. City Sexton Reports for the Months of July August & September 1872 were presented, read, received and adopted.
A Petition from a Number of Citizens of the City of Austin, asking to have the Barber Shops, prevented from keeping open doors and doing business after the hours of 10 P. M. on Sundays. The Petition was read and referred to a Committee. Mess. Brueggerhoff & Willis appointed by the Mayor, as said Committee.
Petition of H. J. Dutton was read and referred to City Attorney for consideration and decision.
Petition of O. P. Fink accompanied with his Bill for assessment was read and referred to the City Attorney for examination and if found correct to be put in the hands of the Finance Committee to be audited for pay- ment.
Alderman J. H. Robinson offered the fol- lowing Resolution. Be it resolved by the City Council

of the City of Austin; That a Committee of two Alderman be appointed by his Honor the Mayor, to call upon the Governor of the State to consult with him in reference to the Laws go- verning City Election of this State. The Resolution was adopted by an unani- mous vote. His Honor appointed Alderman W. Brueggerhoff & Willis as said Committee,
A Bill of R. M. Ford for use of Map for City purposes was presented and refered to Finance Committee.
Alderman W. Brueggerhoff offered the following Resolution: Be it resolved by the City Council of the City of Austin; That the Bill for Rent of Hook & Ladder Co N. 1. is hereby ordered paid if the Committee on Fire Department find the same to be correct and certified by the Chief of Fire Department. The Resolution was passed by an una- nimous Vote.
Petition of W. L. Baker was presented, asking the privilege to enlarge a Wooden Building of his. Refered to the Fire Committee.
Petition from the Police of the City of Austin, asking for an increase of salary was read and deferred to Committee on Police.
Alderman Robinson offered the following Resolution: Be it resolved by the City Council of the City of Austin, That

On Motion of Alderman Robinson, the City Council adjourned sine die.
