Adjourned Meeting of City Council September 19, 1877 Council called to order at 8.30 P.M. Mayor Selthus in the Chair Roll called and the following Members answered Aldermen Bremond. Cook & Withers Absent Aldermen Deffenbaugh. James. Larmour Maas. Robinson Taylor and Ward
Alderman Bremond moved a call of the Council. Call sustained and the Marshal was directed to bring in the absentees. The Marshal returned at 9.15 and reported that he had been at the residences of the absentees and that he had failed to see either of them. Sept 3. 6. 10. 11. 12. and 19th 1877, was read and adopted The Mayor informed the council that he had called them together for the purpose of laying before them certain petitions and reports of officers which required immediate action and to dispose of some unfinished business Petition of Patrick Scott. Andrew Major. Ruby Stewart and others stating that they paid license for running Trucks within the city limits, and that said license had been declared unconstitutional by the county court. and asking that they be refunded the amount the amount paid by them as license At the conclusion of the reading of the above petition an alarm of fire was sounded and the council adjourned
