Called Meeting of City Council. Austin Texas. June 21, 1878. Mayor De Gress presiding. Roll Called. Present Aldermen Crow, Miller, Norm, Sheehan, Strong and Vaughan. 6. Alderman Strong moved a call of the Council. The called being sustained by three, the City Marshal was sent for the absentees. The proceedings of the meeting of June 12th were read and approved. Aldermen Metz and Platt appeared and answered to their names. On motion of Aldermen Crow, Aldermen Brooker and Nalle were excused from attendance at this meeting. And on motion of Alderman Millett the call was suspended. Report of Special Committee on printing and binding the Codified ordinances. On motion the report was laid over to next regular meeting. By Alderman Millett. An ordinance appropriating $250.00 to build a foot bridge over Waller Creek on Red River Street. Ordinance read first time and motion to sus-pend the rules least two thirds of a full Coun- -cil not voting in the affirmative. Petitions of Henry Santles and J.N. Link to establish butcher stalls. Granted. By Alderman Vaughan a resolution to author-ize the Mayor to advertise for bids for the repairing of the bridge over the branch east of Shoal Creek in the 5th Ward. Adopted. Petition of T.J. Alderman Millett offered the following resolution which was adopted. Resolved. That the claim of Mr. F.K. Britton be laid on the table. The petition was therefore laid on the table.
