Called Meeting of City Council Austin, Texas, Sept. 30th 1879. Mayor De Gress presiding. Roll Called. Present Aldermen, Crow, Crocker, Halle, Platt, Parm, Sheehan, Strong, and Vaughan The following business was transacted, A resolution appropriating $155.00 to pay for extra work on a bridge over a branch of Shoal Creek on West Pecan St. Read first time and on motion the rules were suspended to place the resolution on its second reading by the following vote Yeas Aldermen Crow, Crocker, Halle, Platt, Parm, Sheehan, Strong & Vaughan. Resolution read second time & on motion the rules were further suspended and the resolution placed on its third reading by the following vote: Yeas Aldermen, Crow, Crocker, Halle, Platt, Parm, Sheehan, Strong and Vaughan. The resolution read third time and on motion passed by the following vote: Yeas Aldermen Crow, Crocker, Halle, Platt, Parm, Sheehan Strong and Vaughan Art. No 309 of the Revised City Ordinances was referred to the Ordinance Committee with instructions to report to the next meeting of the Council such alterations & amendments as to them might seem proper. On motion the City Marshall was instrue- ted to procure a city pound and report his action at the next meeting. On motion the Mayor was authorized to order an election for city officers to be held on the first Monday in Nov. 1879 and to establish voting places and appoint judges &c. The Ordinance Committee were instructed to examine into the Stock Ordinance and make such recom-mendations as they deem advisable to the next meeting of the Council. On motion the Council adjourned.
