Worthington, asking that obstructions to his property be removed by opening of Street in four Wards By permission, Col. Chandler Atty for petitioner, explained cause of making petition. City Physicians Office, Austin Texas Aug 31st 1880 To the hon. Mayor and board of aldermen City of Austin. Gentlemen: - at date of my last report eleven patients remained under my treatment. Twenty one additional have been treated since, making a total of thirty two, treated during the month of August. Of this thirty two, twenty four have been cured two have died, and six remain under treatment at the hospital. I have given fifty prescriptions during the month. Respectfully Submitted R.S.C. The following report from the City Engineer, was read and received, and on motion of Alderman Reichman was referred to the street committee with power to actCity Engineers Office, Austin Tex. Sept 6th 1880 To the hon. L. M. Crooker, Mayor Sir: I have the honor to call the attention of the hon Council to the condition of the bridge on east side of Congress avenue at its intersection of Bois d'Arc Drive. Also the bridge on Cherry Street at its intersection with Trinity. These bridges are so much decayed that they are dangerous to life and property. The ordinance Committee reported favorably on the petition of Citizens asking that permission be granted to Store Cotton on Block 110, and the City attorney was requested to draw up an ordinance in accordance with the petition Alderman Platt moved to reconsider the vote by which the petition of William Brennen to open a Bar room in Ward 10 was granted. Be it Resolved by the City Council of the City of Austin That the message of the late Mayor of the City of Austin Col. J. C. DeGress be ordered printed in the German Weekly paper, edited by Messrs. Schultze Bros. provided the cost will not exceed that of regular Newspaper printing as per Contract account between the Statesman's office and the City of Austin. The following resolution offered by Alderman Halle, on Motion of Alderman Boardman was adopted Resolved that the Mayor is hereby instructed to report to this Council whether bonds have been filed and approved in accordance with Art (51) (1) Revised Ordinances of said City, and he is further required to com- pare the bonds now on file, if any, with the license issued by the assessor and Collector, and in case there are any that have not filed bonds in accordance with said article, he will notify them that license will be withdrawn under Art 673, (61) revised ordinances, unless the same is filed and approved on or before the day fixed for the Next regular Meeting of this Council.
