Called Meeting of City Council Austin, Texas, Sept. 14th 1880 Mayor T. M. Crocker, Presiding Roll called. Present, Alderman Boardman, Metz, Platt, Robertson, Reichman, Sheehan, and Wahrenberger. Absent Alderman Hall and Dohie. Quorum present. Minutes of Regular Meeting Sept 6th and Called Meeting Sept 7th read and approved. The Mayor then stated that the first business in order was to count the votes for alderman of the 6th Ward, held Monday Sept 13th 1880. Aldermen Reichman, Platt and Metz, were appointed tellers, who having canvassed the returns, declared the following as the result: N. N. Duff 60, S. Graves 26, A. Weilbacher 17 and W. Williams 11. Mr N. N. Duff having received the largest vote, was declared elected. And on motion of Alderman Metz, Mr Duff was duly installed and took his seat in the Council and answered to his name. On Motion of Alderman Reichman, Alderman Wahrenberger was excused from all fines on account of absence from the City. Petition of John Condon to open a Bar Room in the 10th ward. Granted. Alderman Platt offered a Resolution that a committee of five Aldermen be appointed to report at the next Regular meeting the practibility of reducing the current expenses of the City Government. Carried. The Mayor appointed on said Committee, Alderman Robertson, Metz, Platt, Boardman and Wahrenberger. An Ordinance amending Article 327 (46) of the revised ordinances of the City of Austin. Ordinance read second time. On Motion of Alderman Boardman, the rules were suspended and the ordinance placed on its third reading and passed by the following vote. Yeas, Aldermen Boardman, Duff, Metz, Platt, Robertson, Reichman, Sheehan and Wahrenberger. Nays, None. An Ordinance appropriating $125.22 to build a bridge on Cherry Street. suspended and the ordinance placed on its third reading and passed by the following vote, two thirds of a full Council voting in the affirmative Yeas. Alderman Boardman. Duff. Platt. Robertson Reichman, Sheehan and Wahsunburger. Nays. Alderman Motz. Petition of D. W. Bell. To open a Vanity Theatre on East Pecan Street. Alderman Robertson Moved to defer action until Next Regular Meeting, there being a tie vote the Mayor voted in the affirmative. An Ordinance amending article 213 of the Revised Ordinances of the City of Austin. Ordinance read first time On Motion of Alderman Platt the rules were suspended and the ordinance placed on its second and third readings, and passed by the following vote, two thirds of a full Council voting in the affirmative Yeas. Aldermen Boardman. Duff. Motz. Platt. Robertson. Reichman and Sheehan Nays Alderman Wahsunburger. The Mayor then announced the Changes in the different Committees to serve for the remaining term of the present administration On Motion of Alderman Wahsunburger the Council adjourned
