Called Meeting Austin Tex, January 14, 1881 Mayor L. M. Crooker, presiding. Roll called – Present – Aldermen Boardman Duff, Platt, Sheehan, Tobin and Fahrenberger Absent – Aldermen Melig, Nalle and Robertson. Quorum present. Alderman Fahrenberger moved – which was duly seconded a call of the council. Carried. The marshal was despatched for the absent aldermen. The minutes of the regular meeting January 3rd 1881 were read and approved. On motion, Alderman Fahrenberger was excused from fine for non attendance at the called meeting of the city council on account of sickness. Alderman Melig appeared and answered to his name. Alderman Tobin moved that the call be suspended. Carried. The mayor stated that he had called the council together to see what action should be taken in reference to the ordinance reinstating the ordinance of the Houston and Texas Central Railway Company. Alderman Tobin presented a substitute to an ordinance read at council meeting of January 3 1881. Ordinance read first time. Alderman Tobin moved that it be referred to a special committee of three alderman who should report as soon as practicable. Carried. The Mayor appointed on said committee: Aldermen Tobin, Boardman and Duff. There being no further business the council adjourned.
