Minutes of the Called meeting of May 31st 1872 read and approved
Petition of George Callan was received and read asking that the Council allow him $30.00 in payment of clothes of his burnt at the small pox camp. Petition adopted and the City Attorney instructed to draw up an Ordinance to cover the amount
A letter was received from J. T. K. Geary in regard to the dangerous condition of the Bridge at the Crossing of Peach and East Antonia Streets
Petition of Gracy, Jacobs, and Josie Gilbert was received and read asking that the Council allow them to sell spirituous liquors in quantities less than one quart on Block 3 Live Oak Street in the 1st Ward Petition granted
The petition of James Cavanaugh asking that he be allowed to redeem improvements on Lot #3 in Block 27. sold for taxes in 1871. Petition granted on condition that petitioner pay all tax and costs now due upon said improvements
Petition of Charles and Wm Von Rosenburg was received and read. Asking that the Council grant the right away to the T. & G. N. R. R. through the stock of Austin to the Capitol and University grounds to enable petitioner to deliver building material for the Construction of said Building. Alderman Brueggerhoff moved to grant the petition motion lost by the following vote, Yeas Brueggerhoff Kuppertz, Saylor. Nays Kinney, Schuber, Parker, Plath, Wilson Petition was referred to the special committee on the right away to the Austin S. W. R. R.

The following report was received from the City Engineer Austin Tex June 8' 1882 To R Clark Chairman of special committee Dear Sir In examining the Bridges throughout the City both foot and Carriage Bridges I find that it will require twenty thousand feet of lumber to rebuild and repair the same which @ $25.00 thousand is $500.00

Alderman Bruggerhoff offered an Ordinance appropriating $346.00 per month for the expenses of the fire department from the first day of April 1882 to the 1st day of Oct 1882 On motion of Alderman Kuepferle to suspend the rules and place the Ordinance on its second and third reading by the following vote yeas Schuler Bruggerhoff Radkey Kuepferle Addison. Nays, Metz, Kinney, Plath.
The Market House committee introduced an Ordinance appropriating $167.00 in payment of improvements at the Market House done by order of the market House committee motion to suspend the rules and place the Ordinance on its second reading was lost Alderman Kuepferle then made a motion to reconsider the motion and place the Ordinance on its second reading was carried by a two thirds vote, and the Ordinance read second and third time under the suspension of the rules, and passed by the following vote yeas Metz Kinney, Schuler Bruggerhoff Radkey, Wilson Kuepferle, Plath nays none
Alderman Bruggerhoff offered the following resolution which was read and adopted and ordered spread on the minutes of the Council. Resolved by the City Council of the City of Austin That His Honor the Mayor report at our next regular meeting what cause, if any, has prevented a settlement with the late City Finance Agent and showing in detail the delay of such settlement in which the interest of the City is so largely at stake
Alderman Kinney called up an Ordinance amending an Ordinance, passed Dec 8th 1881 Authorizing a settlement with Francis B Forster, and the amendment allowed said Forster for his building and to pay warrants for the money however to the amount specified in his account the ordinance under a suspension of the rules was read third time and on motion of Alderman Plath passed by the following vote yeas Metz Kinney Schuler Brug gerhoff Radkey Kuepferle Plath Wilson nays none
