Roll call present Alderman Kinney Brueggerhoff Radkey, Kuppertz Plath Wilson
Alderman Radkey moved a call of the Council motion carried and the Marshal sent after the absentees
Alderman Schuber came in and answered to his name
On motion of Alderman Plath the call of the council was suspended.
Minutes of the regular meeting of June 5" 1882 was read and approved.
Petition of Walter Dix asking that the Council allow stair way in the rear of his building to remain, as they are for a fire escape to his building Petition granted on condition that petitioner will in twelve months replace said stairs with stairs made of iron
A Petition of Citizens and property owners was received and read asking that W B Brush be allowed to construct and maintain and underground sewer in the City of Austin On motion of Alderman Brueggerhoff the Petition was referred to a special committee of three Alderman. His honor the mayor appointed the following as the Committee Kuppertz, Schuber Wilson
Petition of Wm Hendricks asking that the Council remit a fine of ten dollars, imposed against him in the mayors Court Alderman Kuppertz moved to grant the petition motion lost by the following vote yeas Kuppertz Nays. Kinney, Schuber Brueggerhoff Radkey Plath Wilson

The action of the Mayor, Fire Commissioners and Fire Committee in granting I B Smith permission to errect a small shed in the rear of the Temporary Capitol building, for the storage of tools &c. on motion of Alderman Kuppertz was sanctioned by the Council.
Petition of A Raggio & Co asking that the Council grant them permission to open a saloon on Pecan street on Block 40 in the Second Ward Petition granted
Alderman Bruggershoff reported verbally on the petition of Dr Stoddard, asking that he be allowed to errect stairs in the alley at the rear of his building Petition not granted. Alderman Bruggershoff further reported that here after the Fire Commissioners would enforce all Ordinances pertaining to the Fire limits
Alderman Bruggershoff introduced an Ordinance appropriating $3000 out of the Market House funds, for hydrants water pipes &c for use of the Fire Dept Council read first time motion to suspend the rules and place the Ordinance on its second reading was lost by the following vote Yeas Kinney Schuber Bruggershoff Radkey Sturm Wilson Nays Plath.
Alderman Bruggershoff called up an Ordinance appropriating $346 per month for the expenses of the fire dept from April 1st 1882 to Oct 31st 1882 Alderman Brugggershoff offered an amendment to the Ordinance, amendment repealed an Ordinance passed April 6th 1882 the amendment was adopted, the Ordinance was then read second time, the motion to suspend the rules and place the Ordinance on its third reading was lost by the following vote Yeas Schuber Bruggershoff Radkey Kuppertz Wilson Nays Kinney Plath
An Ordinance was introduced appropriating $200 to refund to E R Oberwetter fine paid by him etc The measure was read first time motion to suspend the rules and read the Ordinance second time was lost.

Cooper, as members of the Board of Equalization was received and accepted The Mayor nominated J Warrenberger and W B Brush to fill the vacancy. The Council confirmed the nominations.
