Roll call present aldermen Montz Kinney Schubar Bruggerhoff Plath moeller Peck and Wilson absent alderman Lawrence and Heuppertz a fine of one dollar was entered against Aldermen Lawrence and Heuppertz for none attendance at this meeting.
The following petitions to redeem land sold for city taxes was granted Petition of Betsy Paschel wright Hanum Block 38
Petition of F W Chandler to redeem Block 70 Div E sold for City Taxes petitioner asked that the Council extend the time for him to redeem said block 60 days from the 20 of april 1883. Time extended as asked for
Petition of J R Laurance asking that the Council remit a fine entered against him in the Mayors Court was referred to the City attorney
A communication was received from the sisters of the Holy Cross in regard to a sewar belonging to St Marys Academy which had been closed by order of the City Marshall to prevent water flowing into the street from said sewar. Petition received and ordered filed and the City Marshal instructed by the Council to abate all nuisances
A communication was received from Fnd Sterzing assessor and Collector in regard to assessments made by the City of Austin against property of the I & G.N. R.R. Company Also a letter form attorneys of said road with an opinion rendered by the supreme Court.

A Petition was received from property owner west of shoal creek asking the Council to locate fire hydrants in that part of the City so that they could have fire protection and water for domestic use petition referred back to petitioners and the City Clerk instructed to call their attention to the contract of the City water Co. which compels said Co to extend mains when ever there shall be twenty water takers to one mile of new pipe
Alderman Radkey offered the following Resolution which was adopted Resolved that a special committee of three aldermen be appointed by the Mayor who with the conjunction of the mayor shall be known as the Committee to take charge of the building and location of the City hospital said committee to have full powers to confer with the County authorities upon the question of joint action thereon to have plans and specifications estimate of cost of building and improvements and report in details at the next meeting of the Council The Mayor appointed as the Committee aldermen Radkey Bruggeshoff and schuber
The Street committee was authorized by the Council to make a contract with Henry Dannsbecke to finish the sewer at the foot of Congress avenue at the same price per lineal foot as the upper part of said sewer had been built for

Alderman Radkey offered an ordinance appropriating Five hundred dollars for a gallery and steps at the market house Four hundred and twenty five dollars for a fire bell and $700.00 to purchase eight acres of land south of colorado river for fuel house grounds. Alderman Kenney offered an ordinance amending an ordinance passed March 19th 1885 compelling property owners on Pecan street to build pavements between Colorado & Gaudalupe Streets The ordinance was read second and third time under suspension of the rules and passed by a unanimous vote
An ordinance was introduced for the relief of persons whose property had been sold for City Taxes and bought in by the City The ordinance was read second and third time under suspension of the rules and passed by a unanimous vote
On the recommendation of alderman Plath the Mayor nominated F McCalister and W H Rimmons as special Police officers and on recommendation of alderman Kenney William Kour was nominated as a special police officer the nominations were confirmed by acclamation On motion the Council adjourned
