Mayor's office Austin Tex June 20 1883 To the members of the City Council of the City of Austin Gentlemen You are hereby notified to attend a called meeting of the City Council this monday June 20 1883 at 4 oc PM. For the purpose of attending the funeral of the late alderman Wm. Brueggerhoff. Very Respectfully W A Saylor Mayor
Alderman Hueppertz offered the following Resolution which was adopted. Resolved By the City Council of the City of Austin That it is with feelings of deepest regret that we learn of the death of the late alderman Wm Brueggerhoff That this council has lost one of its most useful members, Austin one of her most energetic and active citizens and his family a devoted and loving Father and Husband. Resolved that as a mark of esteem each member of this Council and the City officials wear the usual badge of mourning for thirty days and that the Council chambers be draped for the same length of time and that the Council attend the funeral in a body. Resolved that we extend to his bereaved widow and children our heartfelt sympathy in this their sad hour of affliction. Resolved that these resolutions be entered upon the journals and the City Clerk be instructed to forward a copy to the family of the deceased. On motion the Council adjourned J S Purnell City Clerk
