Street Extension Approved: The council allocated $500 to extend Brisguet Street through Robinson Hill and build a bridge, improving infrastructure in that area.

State Capitol Sewer Rights Granted: Austin approved allowing the State of Texas to construct a sewer system from the temporary Capitol building to the Colorado River, running through an alley between Congress Avenue and Brazos Street.

Private Sewer Project Rejected: The council blocked W.R. Brush's proposal to build and operate a private sewer in the city by voting to indefinitely postpone the ordinance.

Alderman Attendance Issues: Three council members (Kinney, Radkey, and Schuber) were each fined $1 for missing the meeting, showing the city enforced attendance rules.

320 Called meeting of the City Council Austin Texas July 07, 1883. Hon [illegible] mayor presiding Roll call present Aldermen Lawrence Huppertz Reath and Wilson On motion the council was called and the marshal sent after the absentees. Alderman Morelen and metz came in and answered to their names Call of the Council suspended Fine of one dollar was entered against aldermen Kinney Radkey and schuber for non attendance at this meeting Alderman Huppertz offered the following resolution Resolved by the City Council of Austin that the action of the Hon W A Saylor mayor as evidenced by his proclamation dated the 29 day of June 1885 with reference to a special election for alderman of this ward to fill the vacancy occasioned by the death of U. Rrueggerhoff Sr. and the same is in all things ratified The mayor called up an ordinance appropriating the sum of $500.00 to extend Brisguets street from East Avenue through Robinson Hill and for a bridge on same street the ordinance was read third time. The mayor called up an ordinance repealing an ordinance granting to W R Brush the right to build and operate a sewer in the City of Austin the ordinance was read third time. Alderman Morelen moved to indefinitely postpone the ordinance motion adopted by the following vote Yea Aldermen --- Page break --- 321 Kratz Kuppertz Morter Plath and Wilson Mayo Alderman Lawrance was called up An ordinance X granting to the State of Texas the right to build a sewer from the temporary Capitol and other state buildings down the alley between Congress avenue and Brazos street to the Colorado River or to the state sewer. Alderman Kuppertz offered an ordinance as a substitute for the ordinance granting to the state of Texas the right to build a sewer over the alley between Congress avenue and Brazos street The substitute was adopted by the following vote. Yeas Aldermen Kratz Lawrance Kuppertz Morter Plath and Wilson. Alderman Kuppertz moved a substitute to the ordinance, granting to the state of Texas the right to build and operate a sewer sewer along any street lane alley or common within limits of the City of Austin, be read a third time motion adopted and the ordinance read third time and passed by the following vote Yeas aldermen Kratz Lawrance Kuppertz Morter Plath and Wilson On motion the Council adjourned J.
