Hon W A Sayers Mayor Presiding.
Roll call present aldermen Hancock Pillow Wells Campbell Maas, Schuber Underhill Crooker Odell Carrington Hill Plath Ervin Brush and Brenner 18. Absent aldermen Schneider, Rutton Robertson J.W. Driskill Robertson R. S.
On recommendation of the mayor, the balance due on a fine assessed against Gordon Glosden Auski in the recorders court was remitted.
The following communication was received from the mayor Austin Texas May 19 1884 To the Honorable Board of Aldermen Gentlemen I would respectfully ask your consent to the remission of a portion of the fine imposed by the County Court of Travis County on Theo Killyer on a charge of discharging fire arms within the corporate limits of the City of Austin. The fine amounts to $50.00 and I would suggest that $40.00 of the amount be remitted leaving the amount to be paid by him $10.00 and costs Respectfully W. A. Sayers Mayor On motion of alderman Brush $40.00 of a fine imposed against Theo Killyer (as recommended by the mayor) was remitted by the following vote yeas aldermen Pillow Wells Underhill Maas Odell Plath Ervin Brush and Brenner 9 Nays aldermen Hancock Campbell Schuber Crooker Carrington and Hill Total 6.
Alderman Plath Presented a Petition from J. L. Driskill stating that he wished to purchase from the City lots nine ten eleven and twelve Block 69 upon which to erect part of a hotel

530 Alderman Heath moved that the Petition be referred, to a committee consisting of the Fire Committee and 3 other aldermen and the City Attorney with power to make a provisional trade with Mr. Driskill and to report their action to the next meeting of the City Council for its ratification motion adopted and petition so referred The Honor appointed as the Committee Hancock Maas and Heath.
Alderman Brush, and the City attorney were excused from further attendance at this meeting
A Petition of H.M. Stroeter, asking the Council to refund to him $17.50, amount lost by him by the City cancelling a lease made to him for part of the river walk was read and referred to the Finance Committee
On motion the Council adjourned
