37 september aug 15, 1884 Cont. of The following committee was appointed as Journal the special Committee of 7. to whom was referred contract the appropriation for the City Water Company and the matter of the Contract between the City and the Water Company. Pillow Platt Crocker Underhill Odell Warren & Wells. 7. The motion to fill vacancies on the Police force was adopted. Rept. The resignation of C.A.Lawson as a regular A.Lawson Police officer was read and accepted. The following names were placed in nomination A.R. Finlay K. Cundry John Galley Fred Beck Louis McKee P. A. Thompson W. Darnell Elect. of On the first ballot Fred Beck having received Police a majority of the votes cast, was declared by Beck & the Mayor to be elected a regular police officer Finlay of the City of Austin. On the 7. ballot. A.R. Finlay having received a majority of the votes cast was declared by the mayor to be elected a regular police officer of the City of Austin. On motion the Council adjourned S.
