E. W. Shands & others to establish cemetery A proposition was read from E. W. Shands & Sons proposing to establish a cemetery by a joint stock Co of 10½ acres, 2¾ miles from the City limits and deed to the City, 10 acres for $1500, or rent to the city said 10½ acres at $50. per acre. Referred to select committee of citizens and aldermen appointed to select cemetery grounds.
Resolution cemetery lots not paid for, owners to clean up lots. Minority Report. minority To the Hon. J. W. Robertson, Mayor: butchers Sir: I would most respectfully dissent committee. from the majority report, not to show the relief asked for. I would state that from my undersigned construction of the market ordinances, all places where meats are sold should be confined to certain laws of the City. The butchers having stalls in the market house proper have been compelled to comply with such laws, while those in the city have been allowed to keep open all hours, therefore I would recommend that the council grant the relief prayed for.
