Minutes of a Called Meeting of the City Council. Austin, Texas, Jan. 23, 1888. Hon. Joseph Nalle, Mayor, presiding. (Rii Roll Call. Present- Aldermen Assmann, Baland, Brush, Caldwell, Fisher, Graham, Haigler, Jones, Linn, Phillips, Pillow, Platt, Wilson-13. (aii. Absent- Aldermen Campbell, DeGress, Metz, Odell, Schneider, Townsend, Wortham-7. The Call. Office of City Clerk. Austin, Jan. 23, 1888. To the Members of the City Council: Gentlemen:- you are hereby respectfully notified to attend a special meeting of the City Council at 12 o'clock, noon, today, January 23, 1888, for the purpose of taking steps to attend the funeral of the late John T. Allan, which will take place at 2 o'clock p.m. today, he, it is understood, having bequeathed an estate to the City of Austin. By request of the Mayor- Milton Morris, City Clerk. Alderman Fisher then introduced the following resolution, which was unanimously adopted: Funeral "Resolved, That the mayor and J.T. Allan City Council of the City of Austin, attend the funeral of the late John T. Allan, from his residence No. 1104 San Antonio street at this afternoon at 2 o'clock." Alderman Brush moved that the mayor be authorized to employ a sufficient number of carriages to Convey the Council to the funeral and that the Council attend as a body Adopted.
