Minutes of a Called Meeting of the City Council Austin, Texas, Oct. 5, 1892.
Hon. John McDonald, Mayor, presiding.
Roll Call. Present- Aldermen Anderson, Graham, Glass, Ketchum, Linn, Nitschke, North, Platt, Schuler, Suter, Townsend, Warmoth, Weyerman.- 13. Absent- Aldermen Assmann, Jackson, Hume, Miller, Morris, Newton, Schneider, Shelley, Ziller.- 9. The following Call and Certificate were then read:
Mayor's Office Austin, Texas, Oct. 5, 1892. To the members of the Board of Aldermen of the City of Austin: Gentlemen: I hereby call a Special meeting of the City Council of the City of Austin to assemble in the Council chamber at the City Hall at 5 o'clock, p.m., this day, October 5, 1892, for the purpose of approving accounts against the city and to make an appropriation for the payment of the same; and also for the purpose of considering the question of approving the action of the Board of Public Works in the matter of fixing upon the location of sewer pipes of the Sluvis- Melson Construction Company. Very Respectfully, John McDonald, Mayor.
3:30 p.m. Austin, Texas, October 5, 1892. I hereby certify that Aldermen Anderson, Assmann, Glass, Graham, Hume, Ketchum, Linn, Miller, Morris Newton, Nitschke, North, Platt, Schneider, Schuler, Shelley, Suter, Townsend, Warmoth, and Weyerman have each been served with the above Call by reading it to each of them in person, and that Aldermen Jackson and Ziller have been served by having a true copy of the same left at each of their respective places of business. Peoples party to use City Hall. By unanimous consent of the Council, Alderman Platt introduced a petition from the Committee on arrangements Central Club Peoples party, asking consent of the City Council to the holding of two Ward meetings in the City hall, one on Oct 20th and another on Nov. 3rd. Alderman Linn moved that the petition be granted and the motion was unanimously adopted. The following Communications were then read: Office of Board of Public Works, Austin, Texas, Oct. 5, 1892.

provides that Such pipes be laid under the Supervision of the Board of Public Works, and that the Sewer Company was anxious for the Board to take some action in the matter, and he recommended that Engineer Warenskield be placed in charge of the matter, and on motion, it was So ordered by the Board. I hereby certify that the above is a true and correct Copy of that part of the minutes of the meeting of the Board of Public Works held on Sept. 2, 1892, relating to the Sewerage System. W. J. Oliphant, Sec. Board of Public Works.

The Lewis Morcer Construction Company, Austin, Texas: Gentlemen - This is to certify that the Sewer pipe laid by yourself in this city have been located in accordance with my directions, with the view of avoiding Conflicts with the city water pipes. A. N. Warenskield, Eng. in Charge W. W. ete. Alderman Schulin then moved that the recommendation of the Mayor be Confirmed and the motion was adopted. Alderman Newton Entered the Council and answered to his name. Alderman Linn introduced an ordinance appropriating the Sum of $1,667.67 for the purpose of paying approved accounts. It was read the first time, after which Alderman Linn moved that the Council take a recess of ten minutes. Carried. At the expiration of recess, Alderman Morris entered the Council and answered to his name. A motion was then made to suspend the rules and place the ordinance above named on its second reading, which was adopted by a vote of two-thirds of the whole Council. Alderman Schneider entered the Council and answered to his name. The Ordinance was then read a Second time, after which motions were made to suspend the rules and place the Ordinance on its third reading and that it do now pass, Each of which was adopted by the following Vote. Yeas - Aldermen Anderson, Blass, Graham, Ketchum, Linn, Morris, Newton, Nitschke, North, Platt, Schuler, Suter, Townsend, Warmoth, Weyerman - 15. Nay - Alderman Schneider. The Council then adjourned.
