Roll Call. Present: Aldermen Graham, Jackson, Linn, Miller, Newton, Platt, Schulin, Schilling, Townsend, Wommoth - 10. Absent - Aldermen Anderson, Abernans, Bloss, Hume, Ketchum, Morris, Nitschke, North, Schneider, Sinton, Weyermann, Ziller - 12. Alderman Linn moved that the City Council stand adjourn until Monday, November 14th 1892, at 8 o'clock p.m. Carried.

Minutes
The minutes of the meetings of the City Council which were held on the 17th and 28th days of October, 1892, were adopted as printed. Alderman Linn moved that Mr McCashin be requested to relieve the City Clerk temporarily from attendance upon the Council in order to enable him to complete the preparation of the approved accounts Ordinance. Carried.

Petitions, Memorials, Etc. The following petitions were introduced:

From C.J. Martin & Co., requesting the Council to lease to them for a period of two years, at an
Proposition to lease River walk bet Guada- lupe & San Auto sts.
annual rental of $50. that portion of River Walk lying South of Block 2, and between Sandalupe and San Antonio Streets.
Lease Granted Alderman Schneider
The petition was granted and the City Attorney was instructed to draft a lease in accordance therewith. Alderman Schneider entered the Council and answered to his name.
A. Wilkie's Tillerman H K d. Co.
From A. Wilkie, tillerman of Austin Hook and Ladder Company, Stating that on the 6th day of September last he was disabled and badly hurt while going to
Asks relief for injuries received
a fire, and that he was confined to his room for six weeks by the injuries so received, and that it will be at least two months longer before he will be able to resume his duties; that the salary he has received since his injury has been paid to his substitute. He therefore requests the Council to give him such relief as may be proper.
By Alderman Linn referred to Com. on Claims & accounts &c.
Alderman Linn moved that the petition be referred to the Committee on Claims and Accounts with inst ructions to report an Ordinance covering the amount of his Salary.
By Alderman Morris to amend motion
Alderman Morris moved to amend the motion by adding thereto "and that he and his substitute be carried on the regular pay roll." The amendment was accepted and the motion was

adopted. Alderman Warmoth entered the Council and answered to his name.

Reports of City Officers for the month of October, 1892, were read and referred to their respective Committees.

400 Reports of Committees Reports of Committees By Alderman Hume, for the Street Committee, to whom Street Committee was referred the petition of A. Volz, Fred Arlitt and Aug. Weilbacher, Jr. respecting the opening of San Mareas and A.Volz, Fred A. Litt Guadalupe Streets, Submitted a report thereon recommending Aug Weilbacher "that the City Engineer, in conjunction with the Street Commissioner be ordered and directed to remove all obstructions from Recommending the opening the true line of said Street as Early as practicable of San Marcos & Guadalupe The report was adopted. Sts. By Alderman Hume, for the Street Committee, to whom was referred the petition of Messrs. E. Eggling, Jno. Hillebrand, E. Eggling Jno. Hillebrand Ned Green and Others, Complaining that Various Vehicles Ned Green & others. Collect at the Corner of Congress Avenue and Third Street and Obstruct the Streets, and asking the Council to prevent Such Con.Cong.Ave. & 3rd Sts. Obstructions, Submitted a report thereon recommending the ordinance passed to passage of an Ordinance that will Correct the evil Comppunish obstruction of Vehicles lained of. Alderman North moved that the report be received and that the City Marshal be instructed to see it Carried into Effect. Adopted. New Business New Business. The following was read: Office of the Board of Public Works, Austin, Texas, Nov. 9, 1892. Board of Public Works Hon. City Council, Austin, Texas: Gentlemen:- I have the honor to report that at a meeting of the Board of Public Works held on Nov. 9, 1892, a Supplementary Contract for iron beams, etc, Stillwell & Bierce with Stillwell & Bierce Manufacturing Company of Dayton, contract for iron beams Ohio, was approved, and by unanimous Vote of the Board the Honorable City Council was requested to authorize the Contract for 10,374.03 Mayor to Execute Said Contract Said Contract is herewith Enclosed, and it amounts to $10,374.03. Respectfully, W.J. Oliphant, Secretary Board of Public Works. Mayor authorized to Alderman Morris moved that the Mayor be authorized execute contract. to Execute the Contract. Adopted. By Alderman Morris: An Ordinance appropriating the Dam. Sum of $20,439.45 for the purpose of paying Certain Expenses $20,439.45 appropriated Connected with the Water works and Electric Light System for the City of Austin. It was read the first time, after which motions were made to Suspend the rules and place the Ordinance on its Second and third readings and that it do now pass, Each of which were adopted by the following Vote and were duly Complied with: Yeas- Aldermen Anderson, Assmann, Glass, Graham, Hume, Jackson, Ketchum, Linn, Miller, Morris, Newton, North, Platt, Schneider, Schuson, Shelley, Sutor, Townsend, Warmoth, Weygman- 20. Alderman Morris moved that the resolution be adopted. Carried. By Alderman Linn: An Ordinance appropriating $408.01 appropriated $488.01 for the purpose of paying part of pay roll for Employees for Nov/92 of officers and regular Employees of the city of Austin for the month of November, 1892. It was read the first time, after which motions were made to suspend the rules and place the Ordinance on its Second and third readings, and that it do now pass, Each of which were adopted by the following Vote, and were duly Complied with: Yeas- Aldermen Anderson, Assmann, Glass, Graham, Hume, Jackson, Ketchum, Linn, Miller, Morris, Newton, North, Platt, Schneider, Schuber, Shelley, Sutor, Townsend, Warmoth, Weyerman-20. By Alderman Linn: An Ordinance appropriating $2,039.84 for the purpose of paying approved accounts. It was read the first time, after which motions were made to suspend the rules and place the Ordinance on its second and third readings and that it do now pass, Each of which were adopted by the following Vote, and were duly Complied with: Yeas- Aldermen Anderson, Assmann, Glass, Graham, Hume, Jackson, Ketchum, Linn, Miller, Morris, Newton, North, Platt, Schuber, Shelley, Sutor, Townsend, Warmoth, Weyerman-19. Hupperty and W.H. Stacy. 6 Sixth Ward - At Davis Store; Judges, H. Weilbacher, Sr., Sam Harlan and Joseph C. Ralston Jr. 7 Seventh Ward - At Wellmer's Warehouse, Judges, E. M. Bacon, Ed Nitschke and R. Haschke. 8 Eighth Ward - At County Court-house; Judges, H. W. Waeker, T. F. Sweatt and Walter Sneed. 9 Ninth Ward - At Lang's Stable; Judges, Wm Risher, Lace McKinzie, and B. L. Wingfield. 10 Tenth Ward - At Ed Walker's residence Corner Third and Trinity Streets; Judges, F. Dohme, Sr., J. McDurst and Ed Walker. 11 Eleventh Ward - At Diener's Store; Judges, George F. Warner, J. H. W. Williams and Chas. Strapper. The amendment was adopted after which a motion was made to suspend the rules and place the ordinance on its third reading, which was adopted by a two-thirds vote of the whole Board of Aldermen. The ordinance was accordingly read, after which it was duly passed. The Council then adjourned. Milton Morris, City Clerk.
