• Water Company Settlement: The Austin Water Light and Power Company proposed settling the city's $7,000 debt by providing fire protection and water services for cemetery and public buildings, with rates of 2¢ per barrel or 50¢ per 1,000 gallons—the council referred this to a special committee for review.
• Bouldin Bridge Accepted Despite Flaws: Engineers found cracks in the bridge's arch and wing walls but deemed them non-serious, leading the council to narrowly accept the structure (14-6 vote) despite construction concerns.
• Street Repairs Disputed: A petition to repair dust-covered Nueces Street north of 19th Street was referred to committee rather than immediately approved, with aldermen voting 14-7 to defer the decision.
• Cemetery Maintenance Issues: The Ladies Cemetery Association requested the city provide regular upkeep of 32 grave lots and pauper grounds, install hitching posts to protect trees, and enforce a dog ordinance to eliminate strays from the grounds.
• Worker Payment Delayed: A proposed $1,300 payment for laborers on the Bouldin Creek Bridge failed to pass (8-12 vote), with only $1,000 approved pending confirmation of county responsibility.

Reports of Committees Alderman Shelley for the Committee on claims and accounts to whom was referred the petition of John Wallis requesting the council to refund pound fine paid by him, submitted a report thereon recommending that the petition be granted. The report was adopted. Alderman Shelley was excused on account of sickness Alderman Fischer presented the following Hon John McDonald Mayor and Members of the City Council Gentlemen, Your special committee appointed to investigate the Bouldin Bridge as to the acceptance or rejection of same beg leave to report that we have examined the same and submit the following That while the specifications were not strictly carried out in regard to the riprap work and the masonry of the bridge your committee are of the opinion that the work in general is fairly well done. Your committee found one crack in the arch and a crack in each one of the wing walls. The crack in arch is not considered of a serious nature. And the wing walls were constructed too light to sustain the walls they have to carry but they may stand. We therefore are of the opinion that there are not sufficient grounds to reject same and respectfully recommend the acceptance of same. Francis Fischer J Schuber J B.
