Minutes of a Called meeting of the City Council. Austin, Tex. August 27, 1894. Hon John McDonald, mayor, presiding. Roll call. Present- Aldermen Anderson, Assmann, Glues, Jackson, Lawless, Linn, Nitschke, North, Raymond, Redd, Roberdeau, Schneider, Shelley, Townsend - 14. Absent- Aldermen Dawson, Fischer, Hancock, Hume, Platt, Powell, Taylor, Warmoth- 8 The following was read: Mayor's Office Austin, Tex. Aug 27, 1894. To the Members of the Board of Aldermen of the City of Austin, Tex. Gentlemen- I hereby call a special meeting of the City Council of the City of Austin to assemble in the council chamber at the city hall on this day, August 27, 1894, at 5 o'clock p m. for the purpose of making an appropriation to pay estimate No 2. in favor of Brown & Dabney for work done and material furnished under thier contract dated June 14, 1894. John McDonald, Mayor Austin, Texas, Aug 27, 1894. 4 p m I hereby certify that the following aldermen have been served with the above call by having it read to each of them in person, viz- Anderson, Assmann, Dawson, Glues, Hume, Jackson, Lawless, Linn, Nitschke, North, Platt, Powell, Raymond, Redd, Roberdeau, Schneider, Shelley, Taylor, Townsend, and Warmoth and that Aldermen Fischer and Hancock have been served by an official copy being left at each of their respective places of business. James E Lucy, City Marshal. Alderman Anderson moved a call of the council. Alderman Linn moved as a substitute that the ordinance referred to in the call of the council be read and referred to the Finance Committee. Carried. Alderman Anderson introduced an ordinance appropriating $3642.79 for the purpose of paying estimate No 2 in favor of Brown & Dabney, under thier contract with the city of Austin, dated June 14, 1894. Alderman Linn moved that the council stand adjourned. The motion was adopted by the following vote: Yeas- Aldermen Assmann, Jackson, Lawless, Linn, Raymond, Roberdeau, Townsend, Mayor- 8 Nays- Aldermen Anderson, Glues, Nitschke, North, Redd, Schneider, Shelley, - 7.
