Wilhall Mayor Presiding Roll Called Present Aldermen Fischer, Glass, Mortimen, Nolan, Stumpf. 5 Absent Aldermen Dunham, Schneider. 2 The following call of the Council was read Austin Texas Dec 21st 1900 A special meeting of the City Council is hereby Called to meet in the Council Chamber in City Hall at 7 o'clock P.M. this 21st day of Dec 1900, for the purpose of receiving and acting upon the Report of the Water Light Committee, upon the application of the Water, Light and Power Commission, asking the Council to advance them the sum of $10.000.oo upon Water Light to be furnished, and for taking such further action as to them may seem proper on the said application. Austin Texas Dec 20. 1900 To the Hon Mayor & City Council; Your Committee on Water Light to whom was referred a Resolution of the Water, Light and Power Commission of date Dec 3, 1900, beg leave to report that they have considered said resolution and recommend that the sum of Ten thousand dollars be appropriated as therein requested. We further beg leave to inform the Council that said Committee are all of the opinion that the City should be supplied with Power Lights before any further expenditure is made for extensions for the benefit of private Consumers H. 418 Assessor and Collector of Taxes By Alderman Fischer An Ordinance appropriating the sum of $10,000.00 for the purpose of advancing to the Water Light and Power Commission of the City of Austin said sum on account of all money to become due it for Water, Light and Power furnished the City for public use. The ordinance was read the first time and on Motion the rule was suspended and the ordinance placed upon its second reading by the following Vote Yeas Aldermen Fischer Relaas Mortimer Nolen Strumph 5 Nays None The ordinance was then read the second Time Alderman Fischer moved to Amend the ordinance by adding the following Section 3. That the sum hereby advanced shall be used, first:- for furnishing Power Lights, 2nd for any other purpose said Commission may deem best The amendment was adopted, and the ordinance as Amended, was then passed by the following Vote Yeas Aldermen Fischer Relaas Mortimer Nolen Strumph 5 Nays None On Motion the Council adjourned Jas.
