White, Mayor presiding Roll Called Present Aldermen Crooken, Haynes, Macken, Maddow, Moore, Witscke, Redd, Schneider, Shelley, Shumate Smith, Reitch Absent Aldermen Stune, Miller, Reitch The following Call of the Council was read Austin, Texas, Nov 9th 1903 Call of Council To the members of the City Council of the City of Austin. A special meeting of the City Council is hereby called to convene in the Council Chamber at the City Hall in said City, at 8 o’clock P.M. on this the 9th day of November A.D. 1903, for the purpose of approving the Tax Rolls for 1903, and for the further purpose of taking such action as to the employment of a suitable person to superintend the construction of the Storm Sewer as the Council may deem necessary R.E. Montgomery City Marshal Alderman Maddax offered the following resolution Austin, Texas, Nov 9th 1903 Tax Rolls for Be it resolved by the City Council of the City of Austin, 1903 approved Texas, That the Tax rolls for the year 1903, as presented by the Assessor & Collector of Taxes, be and are hereby approved. The resolution was adopted by the following vote Yeas Aldermen Crooken, Haynes, Macken, Maddax, Moore, Witscke, Redd, Schneider, Shelley, Shumate Smith Nays None. Alderman Macken offered the following resolution Resolution Be it resolved by the City Council of the City of Austin, that the Mayor and Street Committee be and are hereby authorized and instructed to employ on behalf of --- Page break --- 114 Mayor vs Street Committee to employ Supt for Storm Sewer. the best a competent man to supervise and superintend the construction of the storm water sewer on Congress Avenue at a salary not to exceed $100.ºº per month Alderman Smith entered the Council chamber Alderman Haynes moved a call of the Council which was seconded.
