Wooldridge, Mayor, presiding Roll Called Present Alderman Brocker, Haynes, Summer, McKean, Waddell, Miller, Moore, Kettich, Audd, Schneider, Shelley, Smith, Webb Absent Alderman Shumate On motion the minutes were approved as recorded by the clerk, without reading. Reports of City Offices The Mayor laid before the Council the report of the Marshal for the month of Nov 1903, and of the other City offices, except the Treasurer for the month of Dec 1903, which were on motion referred to their appropriate Committees, without reading. Reports of standing Committees Finance on officers reports Alderman Waddell for the Finance Committee to whom was referred the reports of the Assessor and Collector, the Treasurer and the Clerk for the months of Sept. Oct. Nov 1903, presented a report stating that they had been examined and found correct. The report was adopted. on additional allowance of Repairs for Alderman Schneider for the Finance Committee to whom was referred the petition of Austin Hook and Ladder Co No1, for an additional allowance to said Co for Feed and repairs, presented a report recommending that they be allowed $10.00 per month additional to their present allowance. On motion the report of the Committee was adopted. by A motion on of Recino's Foas Alderman Haynes for the Committee on claims and accounts, to whom was referred the petition of Long Chesters asking that his assessment for the year 1903, be corrected, presented a report recommending that the petition be granted and that the Assessor & Collector be authorized and directed to make the correction in accordance with said petition. Street Vendors of Merchandise & persons ac. prohibiting same By Aldermen Shelley an ordinance prohibiting vendors from standing for the purpose of Vending goods, wares or merchandise of any character whatsoever on certain portions of certain Streets and sidewalks of the City; and prohibiting the obstruction of free passage over such Streets and sidewalks by hawkers and vendors of goods, wares and merchandise of any character by standing thereon or moving thereon. Street Committee authorized to dispose of old Street [illegible] 133 the City Treasurer to transfer from the Bonded Indebtedness account to the Sinking fund. of the water and light bonds the sum of $2845.00 for the purpose of purchasing bonds for the Sinking fund. The resolution was adopted. Alderman Nitschke by permission of the Council presented a petition from Protection Hose Co No 3. asking an appropriation of $3500. for the purpose of improving their Fire Hall.
