Reports of Standing Committees Alderman Huene for the Ordinance Committee to whom was referred the Plumbing Ordinance, presented a Substitute for Said Ordinance, On motion the report was laid over to come up with the substitute under the head of Unfinished business.
Alderman Nitschke for the Street Committee to whom was referred the petition of C.W. Beard for permission to erect a wagon scale on Danfasioli & 5th Street, presented a report recommending that the petition be not granted for the reason that there is already a Scale on the intersection of said Streets and the petitioner is not doing business at that point. On motion the report was adopted.
Alderman Nitschke for the Street Committee to whom was referred the petition of T.L. Purnell et al, asking that the side walk on 6th from Brazos to Priestly Streets be properly graded, presented a report recommending that the petition be granted, and that the City Engineer be instructed to notify the property owners accordingly On motion the report was adopted.
Alderman Nitschke for the Street Committee to whom was referred the application of F.E. Nitschke for permission to erect an awning & show window on E. 5th Street, presented a report recommending that the petition be granted for the Awning and stating that the Petitioner has abandoned the show window. On motion the report was adopted.
Alderman Nitschke for the Street Committee to whom was referred the petition of Frank Heierman & Rosen for permission to erect a wagon scale on Brazos and Fifth Streets, presented a report stating that the City has given them the authority. On motion the report was adopted.
Alderman Nitschke for the Street Committee to whom was referred an Ordinance appropriating the Sum of $75.00 for the purpose of Improving 10th Street between Guadalupe and Antonia Streets, presented a report stating that "we are informed that this is to be used in Cutting down the side walk at the Corner of Said Streets and we return the Ordinance with the recommendation that it be referred to the City Attorney as we doubt the power of the Council to appropriate money for "working the side walks." On motion the report was adopted.
