Church et al To have Street work work done on Henderson Street, Read and on Motion referred to the Street Committee E.U. Hose Co. By the Mayor. Communication from East Austin Hose Co Invitation Ball * & inviting the Mayor, City Council and City officers to attend the Annual New Years ball to be given by the Co on Jany 2nd 1905 On motion the invitation was accepted, with thanks H.B. Hart By Alderman Wright, Application of City Attorney Hart for Leave of absence leave of Absence from Dec 20, 1904 to Jan 1st 1905. On motion leave was granted as asked for E.B. Beall By Alderman Schneider, Petition of E.B. Beall to put in Wagon Scale Wagon Scale at Nº 213, West 6th Street. Read and on motion referred to the Street Committee Mrs J.V. Davis By Alderman Redd. Report W & L Reports of City Officers Commission The Mayor laid before the Council the report of the Water Light Commission for the quarter ending Sept 30th 1904, which was on Motion referred to the Water & Light Committee, without reading Reports Standing Reports of Standing Committees Committees Alderman Woddard for the Finance Committee reported that Finance on purchase the Committee had purchased for the Sinking fund of the Water of bonds for sinking & Light bonds 5000.ºº of Austin City Refunding bonds, and for the fund. X Sinking fund of bonds issued prior to May 1st 1890, One Refunding bond of $1000.ºº The purchase price of said bonds being 83½ flat, delivered in Austin. On Motion the report was adopted Claims & Accounts Alderman Haynes for the Claims & Accounts Committee to Petition J.M. Hill. whom was referred the petition of J.M. Hill to be permitted to use one half of the Taxes due by him for one year 1903-04 to improve streets around his property, presented a report recommendy that the petition be not granted & giving their reasons for it report. 255 Hospital: Physicians report Alderman Redd for the Hospital Committee to whom was referred the report of the City Physician for the month of Nov 1904, presented a report stating that same had been examined and found correct. The report of the Committee was adopted Special Comm, Alderman Moore for the special Committee to whom Plumbing ordinance was referred the Plumbing Ordinance presented a report and submitting a Substitute for said Ordinance and recommending the adoption of the substitute. On motion the report was laid over to come up with the Ordinance under the head of unfinished business. Fire Commissions, The Mayor laid before the Council a report of the Fire Commissiones on Peter Weller on the petition of Geo Weller for permission to erect a wooden frame shed within the fire limits, recommending that the petition be granted with certain amendments proposed by the Board. On motion the report was adopted Unfinished Unfinished business business The Mayor laid before the Council the Plumbing Ordinance with the report of the Committee together with the Substitute offered by the Committee The Substitute was read for information. 256 Section 4. was read. Alderman Maddox moved to Amend Same by Striking out in line 2, after the word "pay" the words "to such person as the examining and supervisory board of plumbers may designate to receive the same" and in line 5 after the word "fees" the words "may be used by said board to defray any of its legitimate expenses, the residue if any to" and add in line 5 after the word fees, the word "shall" The amendments were adopted. Section 4 as amended was then adopted. Section 5 was read and adopted. Section 6 was read. Alderman Hume moved to amend Same by striking out the last sentence, (all after the word examination.) The amendment was adopted by the following vote Yeas Aldermen Crooker, Haynes Hume Maeder Mitchke Read Shumate, Wileit - 8 Nays Aldermen Maddox Moore Schneider Shelley SmithOn motion Alderman Wilson was excused from farther attendance at this session of the Council. Section 7 was read, Alderman Schneider moved to strike out the figures $75.00 and insert in lieu thereof the following "$12.00 for each official Inspection." Alderman Moore moved that Sections 1 to 18 under head of "Specifications to govern the plumbing and house connections with the public sewers of Austin, Texas," be adopted as a whole, which motion prevailed. Under Head of "Inspection of plumbing" Sections 1.2.3 were read and adopted. Section 4 was read. Alderman Maddox moved to Amend same by striking out in line 3. The figures "75" and insert in lieu thereof the figures "76", which motion prevailed. Sections 5.6.7.8.9 were read and adopted. Alderman Moore moved to adopt the report of the Committee, which motion prevailed. Alderman Moore moved to adopt the Sub title Ordinance as Amended, which motion prevailed. Third. That the City Treasurer be and he is hereby directed to transfer from the General Fund account to the New City Hall account the sum of Six thousand dollars. The resolution was adopted.
