The Mayor laid before the Council the report of the City Clerk for the month of January 1905, which was on motion referred to the Auditing Committee. The Mayor laid before the Council the report of the Water and Light Commission for the quarter ending Dec 31st 1904, which was read & on motion referred to the Water & Light Committee Standing Committees Reports of Standing Committees Alderman Schneider for the Fire Committee presented Fire North Austin fire hall the following report which was read and Adopted. To the Hon. R.E. White, Mayor, and Board of Aldermen of the City of Austin: Gentlemen: Your Committee on Fire to whom was referred the letting of bids for North Austin Fire hall beg leave to report that we have accepted the bid for said building of S.V. Belger, and S.K. Brags for the sum of one Thousand eight hundred eighty five & 15/100, provided said North Austin Fire Co. No. 6. turn over to the City through its Mayor the excess of the appropriation. --- Page break --- 283 which would be eight hundred and eighty five dollars J R Bobo I C Bracken R E Redd Ordinance Corporation Court Alderman Knefner for the Ordinance Committee, to whom was referred an ordinance providing for a Recorder of the Corporation Court of the City of Austin, presented a report recommending that the ordinance do not pass. The report of the Committee was adopted. Alderman Nitschke for the Street Committee, to whom Street H&TC Ry extend tracks was referred an ordinance permitting the H & TC Ry to extend its tracks on 24th Street, presented a report recommending the passage of the ordinance. The report was adopted. Unfinished business Alderman Lay laid before the Council an ordinance permitting the H & TC Ry Co to extend its track on 8th Street. The ordinance was read the second time. Alderman Miller entered the Council Chamber. Alderman Schneider moved to amend the ordinance by adding the following Section 7. That said Railroad Company shall keep said Street in good repair to the satisfaction of the Street Committee and City Engineer.
