Shelley, Mayor, Presiding Roll Called Present Aldermen Armstrong, Crooker, Duncan, Haynes, Miller, Moore, Patri, Powell, Rabahl, Shumate, Smith and Wilhelm 12 Absent Aldermen Thacker, Von Rosenberg 2 The following Call of the Council was read. Austin, Texas, April 20th 1905 Call of Council A Special Meeting of the City-Council of the City of Austin, Texas, is hereby Called to meet in the City Hall at 8 o’clock P.M. this 20th day of April A.D. 1905, for the purpose of employing an assistant to the City Engineer. F. O. Shelley Mayor L. W. Crooker Alderman 8th Ward Geo. D. Smith " 7th " Jno. Shumate " 6th " Austin, Texas, April 20th 1905 I hereby Certify that I have this day served the within Call for a Special Meeting of the City Council of the City of Austin, Tex, by reading same to the following named Aldermen, to-wit:F. L. Haynes, R. D. Jones, F. D. Armstrong, Joseph J. Thacker, Jno. Shumate, Louis Powell, A. L. Moore, H. Rabahl, H. S. Miller, H. Wilhelm, Henry Patri F. W. Powell, L. W. Crooker Alderman Von Rosenberg being out of the City-I left a Copy of the within Call at his residence J. I. Morris City Marshal. Alderman Shumate moved that City-Engineer Leonard be requested to address the Council on the matter mentioned in the Call. After remarks by Ordinance authorizing Alderman Leonard, Alderman Thacker seconded the the appointment of an Asst. to Engineer for motion. Carried. Alderman Miller introduced two months An ordinance employing an assistant Engineer to Assist the City Engineer and fixing the Salary of Said Assistant. The ordinance was read the first time and passed under suspension of the rules by the following Vote Yeas Aldermen Armstrong, Crooker, Duncan, Haynes, Thacker, Miller, Patri, Powell, Shumate, Smith and Wilhelm 11 Nays Aldermen Moore, Rabahl 2 On motion the Council adjourned.
