Austin Budget Approves City Salaries for 1908

Lall Counail A special meeting of City Council of the City of Austin, Texas, is hereby called to meet in the Council chamber, Smith Office building, at 8 oclock P M Saturday January 25th 1908, for the purpose of making an appropriation to pay salaries of Aldermen, and for Officers and Employees of the City for the year 1908. F M Maddox, Mayor F A Scott, L M Crooker, Tom D Smith, Austin, Texas ,January 25th 1908; I hereby certify that I have served the above call for a special meeting of the City Council by having same read by Officers Rutledge and Mayfield to each of the following named Aldermen to wit: W D Miller, W C Redd, A E Cuneo, W J Sutor, L M Crooker, Tom D Smith, C J Armstrong, J M Meredith, H L Haynes, F A Scott, Henry Petri, C J Wilhelm, C B Moreland and C W Moore Yours very Resp J H Mallory Sergt Police Austin, Texas Jalanin. By Alderman Haynes an ordinance appropriating the sum of $ 40,765.00 for the purpose of paying Salaries of Officers and Employees for the year 1908; Section 1 Be it ordained by the City Council of the City of Austin: That the sum of Forty Thousand Seven hundred and sixty five dollars, or so much thereof as may be necessary, be and the same is hereby appropriated out of any money in the General fund in the City treasury not otherwise appropriated, for the purpose of paying the Salaries of Officers and Employees for the year 1908. The ordinance was read the first time and passed under suspension of the rules by the following vote: Yeas Aldermen Armstrong, Crooker, Cuneo, Haynes, Miller, Moore, Moreland, Petri, Scott, Sutor & Wilhelm Nays none An ordinance: Appropriating the sum or $1680.00 for the purpose of paying the salaries of Aldermen for the year 1908 : Section 1 Be it ordained by the City Council of the City of Austin: That the sum of Sixteen hundred and eighty dollars, or so much thereof as may be necessary, be and the same is hereby appropriated out of any money in the General fund in the City treasury not otherwise appropriated, for the purpose of paying salaries of Aldermen for the year 1908. The ordinance was read the first time and passed under suspension of the rules by the following vote: Yeas Aldermen Armstrong, Crooker, Cuneo, Haynes, Miller, Moore, Moreland, Petri Scott, Sutor & Wilhelm Nays none By Alderman Haynes an ordinance appropriating the sum of $ 6000.00 for the purpose of paying salaries of Sanitary Employees for the year 1908. By Alderman Haynes an ordinance appropriating the sum of $ 2540., for the purpose of paying the salaries of Drivers of Street Teams for the year of 1921. Said ordinance was read the first time and passed under suspension of the rules by the following vote: Yeas Aldermen Armstrong, Crooker, Cuneo, Haynes, Miller, Moore, Moreland, Petri, Scott, Sutor & Wilhelm 11 Nays none.
