66 Called meeting of the City Council,Austin,Texas,February 10, 1908: Hon F M Maddox,Mayor,Presiding: Roll called; Present Aldermen: Armstrong,Crooker,Haynes,Meredith,Miller,Moreland, Redd,Smith & Wilhelm 9 Absent Aldermen Cuneo,Moore,Petri,Scott & Sutor 5 Alderman Crooker moved a call of the council,which was seconded and the Marshal directed to bring in the absentees. On motion Alderman Petri was excused on account of sickness; Alderman Scott entered the Council chamber and answered to his name; On motion the call was Suspended . The following call of the Council was read. Call Council Austin,Texas , February 10,1908 . A special meeting of the City Council of the City of Austin is hereby called to meet in the Council chamber,City Hall building,at 5,30 oclock P M this the 10th day of February,1908,for the following purposes,viz: 1 . To consider and enter into a contract with Kyrie Thrasher whereby the said Thrasher is to bring for the City of Austin,in the name of the City,tax suits against James H Hart ,Receiver,and Joe Koen,Receiver,and such other parties as may be necessary to such litigation for delinquent taxes due the City for the current and certain past years. 2 . To consider and approve certain supplemental tax rolls of the City Collector and Assessor of taxes,and any other action necessary thereunder . Ordinance D umpia Instructing Mayor To employ Ky By Alderman Haynes an ordinance authorizing and instructing the Mayor of the City of Austin to employ Kyrie Thrasher as agent and attorney of of the City of Austin for the purpose of causing the assessment and collection of certain taxes due said City. The ordinance was read the first time and passed under suspension of the rules by the following vote : Yeas Aldermen Armstrong,Crooker,Haynes,Meredith,Miller,Moreland,Redd,Scott, Smith & Wilhelm 10 Nays none. 1908. Feb. 10. Alderman Scott offered the following resolution which was read and adopted; Be it resolved by the City Council of the City of Austin That the City Tax rolls of 1907 be and is hereby approved including all supplemental assessments made thereto up to & including the 10th day of Feby 1908 .
