Hon F M Maddox,Mayor ,presiding: Roll called: Present Aldermen Armstrong,Haynes,Meredith,Miller,Petri,Smith,Sutor & Wilhelms Absent Aldermen Crooker,Cuneo,Moore,Moreland,Redd & Scott 5 Alderman Haynes moved a call of the Council,which was seconded and the Marshal directed to bring in the abxxxxxxabsentees . The following call of the Council was read: Austin,Texas,March 29th 1909. A special meeting of the City Council of the City of Austin,Texas,is hereby called to meet in the Council Chamber ,City Hall,at 8o'clock P M this day for the following purposes,viz : 1st To make appropriations to pay salaries of Officers and Employees ,fot the months of March and April 1909. 2nd To consider and to take such steps as the Council may see fit ,towards build-ing a Storm Sewer in the Alley West of Guadeloupe street ,from 19th street north to Seaton Infirmary.

Alderman Redd entered the Council,1 and answered to his name. On motion the call was suspended. Approv Salaries Off. & Employees By Alderman Haynes an ordinance appropriating the sum of $ 7500,00 for the purpose of paying salaries of Officers and Employees for the months of March and April 1909. The ordinance was read the first time and passed under suspension of the rules by the following vote : Yeas Aldermen Armstrong,Haynes,Meredith,Miller,Petri,Redd,Scott,Smith, Sutor & Wilhelm 10 Nays none. Approved Salaries Sanitary Employees By Alderman Haynes an ordinance appropriating the sum of $ 1000,00 for the purpose of paying salaries of Sanitary Employees for the months of March and April 1909.
