360 Regular meeting of the City Council,Austin,Texas,August 26, 1909. Hon A P Wooldridge,Mayor,Presiding : Roll called: Present Mayor Wooldridge,Councilmen Bartholomew,Gracy, : Hart &Powell. Absent CouncilmenBartholomew & Hart 2 The Mayor stated that Councilman Bartholomew was absent on account of being a witness in Court and that Councilman Hart was engaged in the Recorders Court,and suggested that the Council take a recess until 3 Oclock P M this day ,which suggestion was adopted by the following vote: Yeas Mayor Wooldridge, Councilmen Gracy & Powell 3
August 26th 1909,3 P M The Council was called to order by the Mayor ,with all members present. The minutes of the last regular meeting were read and approved. Petition of W.P.McDonnell By Councilman Hart a petition from W P McDonnell asking the Council for refund of to refund him a pound fee that he had been required to pay .The petition pound fees. was read and on motion the Council declined to grant the request,by the following vote: Nays Mayor Wooldridge,Councilmen Bartholomew,Gracy Hart & Powell 5 Yeas none.
Appropriation for drying Racks By Councilman Hart an ordinance appropriating the sum of for Fire Cos. $ 360.00 for the purpose of erecting drying racks for the different Fire Companies.The ordinance was read the first time and the rule suspended and the ordinance placed on its second reading by the following vote: Yeas Mayor Wooldridge,Councilmen Bartholomew,Gracy,Hart & Powell 5 Nays none. The ordinance was read the second time and laid over until the next regular meeting .
Councilman Gracy offered the following resolution : Resolution Be it resolved by the City Council of the City of Austin,that the City Attny. to call on City Attorney of the City of Austin,be and he is hereby instructed to Sheriff Travis Co. to request Geo S Matthews ,Sheriff of Travis County Texas,to turn over to pay in money collected the Assessor and Collector of taxes of the City of Austin,all money for city collected by him under execution or orders of sale upon judgements obtained by the City of Austin in the District Court of Travis County Texas,and also to request said Sheriff to furnish an itemized bill of his costs in all suits brought by the City of Austin in the District Court of Travis County,Texas,.
The resolution was adopted by the following vote : Yeas Mayor Wooldridge,Councilmen Bartholomew,Gracy,Hart & Powell 5 Nays none.
Councilman On motion Councilman Gracy was granted a leave of absence for two weeks, Gracy granted beginning August 28th 1909,by the following vote: leave of absence Yeas Mayor Wooldridge,Councilmen Bartholomew,Hart & Powell 4 Nays none.

On motion the Council recessed subject to the call of the Mayor.
