Re.jular m.eting of the City Council: Austin, Texas Oct :5th 1909: Hon A P Wooldridge, Mayor presiding : Roll called: Present Mayor Wooldridge, Councilmen Barthclomew,Gracy, Hart & Powell 5 Absent none. The minutes of the last regular and recessed meetings were read & approved . Petitions,Memorial,etc: The Mayor laid before the Council a communication from Miss Lula V Cater in regard to Assessment for taxes as fixed by the Board of Equalization,which was read and laid over subject to call. The Mayor laid before the Council a petition from Citizens asking to have the gates on the East side of the Cemetery kept unlocked during the day,which was read and on motion laid over subject to call. New business: Expense Committee Dallas & Warts paving proposition By the Mayor an ordinance appropriating the sum of $ 92.10 for the purpose of -paying expenses of Committee to Dallas & Fort Worth to inspect paving . The ordinance was read the first time and the rule suspended and it placed on its second reading by the following vote : Yeas Mayor Wooldridge, Councilmen Bartholomew,Gracy, Hart & Powell 5 Nays none. The ordinance was read the second time and laid over until the next meeting. Councilman Powell offered the following resolution: Sanitary Dept transferred to Supt Police, etc Be it resolved by the City Council of the City of Austin: Tha the Sanitary Department be re-consigned to the Superintendent of Police and Public Safety on and after November 1st 1909. By Councilman Powell an ordinance appropriating the sum of $ 200.00 Approve from city engineer for the purpose of paying Assistant to City Engineer. November 1st 1909. Proposed for purchase of ground for City Cemetery The Council was called to order by the Mayor ,with all members present Councilman Gracy moved that the City purchase all property in the City Cemetery,owned by the Austin City Cemetery Association,for the sum of $ 500.00,to be paid for out of the Cemetery fundwithin six months,provided that the City Attorney states that the titleto strip of ground ,40 feet in width along North end of Cemetery,running from Jewish part of Cemetery,to west line of Pauper ground is found in said Association. The resolution was adopted by the following vote : Yeas Mayor Wooldridge,Councilmen Bartholomew,Gracy,Hart & Powell 5 Nays none.

He shall be a resident citizen and voter of the State of Texas and be City of Austin and a practicing Physician in good standing ,and shall reside at ,or adjacent to the City Hospital, and shall have charge of said Hospital under the superintendence of the City Health Officer and the Superintendent of Police and Public Safety, and shall discharge all duties required of him that will be for the best interest of said Hospital, under rules and regulations to be adopted by the Superintendent of Police and Public Safety and the City Health Officer for the proper management of said Hospital. He shall receive as compensation for his services the sum of Fifty ( $ 50.00) dolls per month, to be paid monthly by the City of Austin, commencing with the 1st day of November, 1909, so long as he occupies said position.
