Austin Street Paving and Building Permits Approved

401 Regular meeting of the City Council: Austin,Texas November 18, 1909. Hon A P Wooldridge,Mayor presiding Roll called . Present Mayor Wooldridge,Councilmen Bartholomew,Gracy,Hart & Powell 5 Absent none. The minutes of the last regular and adjourned meeting were read and approved. No petitions: Unfinished business: The Mayor laid before the Council an ordinance appropriating the sum of $ 50.00 $50. for extra Engineering for the purpose of paying for extra engineering work,which was read the third work time and passed by the following vote : Yeas Mayor Wooldridge,Councilmen Bartholomew,Gracy,Hart and Ewell 5 Nays none. New business : Pound fee Geo. Robbins Councilman Hart moved that the Pound fee assessed against Geo C Robbins,except $ 1.3 Remitted $ 1.50 be remitted,which motion prevailed by the following vote : Yeas Mayor Wooldridge,Councilmen Bartholomew,Gracy,Hart & Powell 5 Nays none. Councilman Gracy offered the following resolution: Tax Assessments Resolved that assessments for the year 1908 against the, Cancelled American National Ins Co of Galveston, THe Texas Life Ins Co of Waco, The Guarantee Life Ins Co of Houston, The Union Bank and Trust Co of Dallas, The Bond Guarantee Co of Dallas, The Mecca Fire Ins Co of Waco, The Millers Fire Ins Co of Fort Worth, The Texas Investment Co Houston, The Standard Mutual Fire Ins Co of Houston, being erroneously made,are here by cancelled and the Assessor and Collector is hereby instructed to cancel same on his records and take credit therefo. The resolution was adopted by the following vote: Yeas Mayor Wooldridge,Councilmen Bartholomew,Gracy,Hart & Powell 5 Nays none. On motion the Council recessed until 3 oclockP M this date. November 18th 1909.4,30 P.M. S L Costley & The Council was called to order by the Mayor,with all members present. Geo Balagia Councilman Hart presented petitions of S L Costley and Geo Balagia for permission building permits to erect buildings within the Fire limits,both of which had been approved by granted the Board of Fire Commissioners,which were granted by the Council by the following vote,viz: Yeas Mayor Wooldridge,Councilmen Bartholomew,Gracy,Hart & Powell 5 Nays none. Allma paving East The Council was called to order by the Mayor with all members present. 6th street The Mayor laid before the Council an ordinance appropriating the sum of $ 1257.40 for the purpose of paving East 6th street. The ordinance was read the third time and passed by the following vote: Yeas Mayor Wooldridge,Councilmen Bartholomew,Gracy,Hart & Powell 5 Nays none. Councilman Gracy offered the following resolution: Treasurer to transfer Be it resolved bt yhe City Council of the City of Austin : That funds. the City Treasurer be and he is hereby authorized and directed to transfer from the General fund to the Street Improvement fund the sum of $ 20.00,being amount paid the City By Ringling Bros ,show as damages to streets of the City,which amount was deposited by the City Assessor & Collector to the credit of the general fund,when it should have gone to the credit of the Street Improvement fund.
