Ordinance Amending an ordinance setting aside 2 ½ per cent of the advalorum taxes for Cemetery purposes ,and an ordinance setting aside 5 % of the advalo-rum taxes for Park purposes,an ordinance setting apart ,in addition to the 25 % of the advalorum taxes,set apart by the Charter for Street purposes,an additional 2 ½ per cent of the revenue derived from advalorum taxation. Foreman received pay roll .Be it resolved by the City council of the City of Austin: That the City Clerk is hereby authorized to put O P Pressler on the monthly pay roll of the Street Department,as Assistant Foreman. Salary Fifty dollars per month $ ( 50.00);time commencing January 1st 1910. J.P. Murray pay roll & Salary fixed By Councilman Powell resolution. Be it resolved by the City Council of the City of Austin: That the City Clerk is hereby authorized to put J P Murray,Assistant to the City Engineer,on the monthly pay roll,salary seventy five ( $75.00)dollars per month;time commencing January 1st 1910.Said salary to be paid out of the Permanent Paving,or Street Improvement fund,as shall be designated by the Supt of Streets,etc. The resolution was adopted by the following vote: Yeas Mayor Wooldridge,Councilmen Bartholomew,'Gracy,Hart & Poell 5 Nays none.
Water, Light, rates Resolution read Councilman Bartholomew offered a resolution fixing rates for Water, Light & Power to be charged by the City ,which was read and laid over for further consideration. Councilman Powell offered the following resolution: Resolved by the City Council of the City of Austin,that authority and City Atty. to file suit trespass title Garden Street direction are hereby given City Attorney,J B Rector,to file suit in the trespass to try title against J Schapiro,for the purpose of determ-ing the City's title to that portion of Garden Street,said to be encroached upon by said J Schapito. January 10th 1910. The Council was called to order by the Mayor ,with all members present The Mayor laid before the Council the ordinance granting the Bonear-Tarr agency the right to place Trash cans on the streets of the City,etc.
