431 Regular meeting of the City Council: Austin,Texas, Feby 10th 1910 The Council was called to order by the Mayor : Roll called : Present Mayor Wooldridge,Councilmen Bartholomew,Hart & Powell 4 Absent sick Councilman Gracy 1 On motion the reading of the minutes was deferred until a later date.
Reports of City Officers : Reports City Officers The following reports of City Officers for the month of January 1910 were read and ordered filed ,viz : Matron of the Hospital,City Marshal,Plumbing Inspector,Sexton and City Clerk.
New business : Approp for railing on retaining wall at Colorado Bridge By Councilman Powell an ordinance appropriating the sum of $ 450.00 for the purpose of putting on railing on the retaining wall at the Colorado bridge.; The ordinance was read the first time,and the rule suspended and the ordinance placed on its second reading by the following vote : Yeas Mayor Wooldridge,Councilmen Bartholomew,Hart & Powell 4 Nays none.
On motion the Council Recessed.
February 10th 1910. The Council was called to order by the Mayor: with all present except Councilman Gracy. Councilman Hart to whom was referred the petition of Mr Henty Maytum, Fine Hy Maytum [illegible] remitted asking the remission of a fine assessed in the Reorders Co` `Court ,presented a report recommending that one-half of said fine nbe remitted,which report was adopted by the following vote: Yeas Mayor Wooldridge,Councilmen Bartholomew,Hart & Powell 4. Lays none.
On motion the Council recessed,subject to call of the Mayor.
February 12th 1910 3 P M The Council was called to order by the Mayor ,with all members present : Bids, rilling Dyke South Austin Councilman Powell presented bids for rilling,Dyke South Austin ,from J N Canion and Mc Donald & Miller,which were opened and discussed. On motion of Councilman Powell further action on said bids was postponed until the Council could have a consultation with the County Commissioners Court.
Councilman Powell offered the following resolution: Engineer authorized to sub-divide and Plat the City Be it resolved by the City Council of the City of Austin: Tha` `t the City Engineer be and he is hereby authorized to sub-divide and Plat that plot of ground outside of the City of ! Austin,known as the "Highlands ",in accordance w with the ordinances of the City of Austin,sub-dividing and plotting property inside the City. The resolution was adopted by the following vote : Yeas Mayor Wooldridge,Councilmen Bartholomew,Gracy,Hart & Powell 5 Nays none. Councilman Powell presented to the Council bids for Paving East 5th street from Red River to East Avenues follows ,viz: Paving East 5th Ben St John $ 2.28 cts per sq yard. Knox T Johnson & S Burland $ 2.15 per sq yard.

On motion the Clerk was directed to return to Mr St John his certified check,which accompanied his bid.
On motion the Council recessed subject to call of Mayor.
Austin,February 14th 1910. Dyke South Austin The Council was called to order,with all members present Commissioners Court of Travis County ,in the matter of making the dyke south of the Colorado Bridge in South Austin. After discussing the matter for some time,the Council recessed until 2 P M this date.
February 14th 1910 2 P M Contract Dyke Austin Awarded to Ray McDonald & Wallace Miller The Council was called to order by the Mayor ,with all members present On motion the contract for filling the Dyke in South Austin,south of the Colorado bridge was awarded to Ray Mc. Donald & Wallace Miller, at their bid ,they to furnish 25.000 cubic yards or more of dirt at 29cents per cubic yard ,same to be spread on Dyke as per specification Yeas Mayor Wooldridge,Councilmen Bartholomew,Gracy,Hart & Powell 5 Nays none.
Driving Ordinance By Councilman Hart an ordinance to regulat driving and riding within the corporate limits of the City of Austin, The ordinance was read the first time and passed under suspension of the rules by the following vote : Yeas Mayor Wooldridge,Councilmen Bartholomew,Gracy,Hart & Powell 5 Nays none. On motion the Council adjourned.
