The minutes of the last regular & recessed meetings were read . On motion the regular order of business was suspended,for the purpose hearing from a committee of Citizens,who entered a protest against the extension of the Pound limits.after which the regular order was resumed . Protect Citizens against extension of Pound limits
Reports of City Officers : Reports City offices The Mayor laid before the Council the reports of the City Marshal& the Matron of the Hospital,which were read and ordered filed.
Unfinished business: Appra Extra Labor The Mayor laid before the Council an ordinance appropriating the sum of $ 2,000. for the purpose of paying for extra labor.The ordinance was read the third time and passed by the following vote: Yeas Mayor Wooldridge,Councilmen Barthelemew,Hart & Powell 4 Nays none. Austin Gas Co to close alley The Mayor laid before the Council an ordinance autherizing the Austin Gas Light Co to close the alley in Block 14,of the sub-division of the south half of Out Lot 2 Div " 0 "of the City of Austin,which was read the third itime and passed by the followig vote: Yeas Mayor Wooldridge,Councilmen Barthelemew,Hart & Powell 4 Nays none.
New business : Vital Statistics ordinance By Councilman Hart an ordinance to provide for the keeping of Vital Statistics in the City of Austin,in accordance with the General laws of the State of Texas, for the violation of the provisions of which a penalty is provided. The ordinance was read the first time and passed under suspension of the rules by the following vote: Yeas Mayor Wooldridge,Councilmen Barthelemew,Hart & Powell 4 Nays none. Bird - Barbd fence around cemetery Councilman Barthelemew offered the following resolution: Resolved that the Supt of Parks and Public Property be autherized to contract for a seven barbed wire fence on the North,East and South sides of Oakwood Cemetery ,said fence to consist of stripped cedar posts 7 feet in length ,with three inch tops,set 2 feet in the ground,for the price of 20 cents for each postproperly set. Resolved that he be also authorized to purchase the necessary wire and staples and to secure the necessary labor to complete said fence. The resolution was adopted by the following vote : Yeas Mayor Wooldridge,Councilmen Barthelemew,Hart & Powell 4 Nays none. On motion the Council recessed subject to call of the Mayor. March 15th 1910: 8th annual install The Council was called to order by the Mayor,with all present ,except Councilman Gracy.
