634 .Regular meeting of the City Council : Austin,Texas ,January 12, 1911. The Council was called to order by the Mayor : Roll called. Present Mayor Wooldridge,Councilmen Bartholomew,Gracy,Hart & Powell 5 Absent none. The minutes of the regular and recessed meetings of January 5th & December 29th 1910. were read and approved . Reports of City Officers: The Mayor laid before the Council the report of the Engineer for the month of November ,and those of the City Marshal,the Health Inspector, the Matron of the Hospital and the Plumbing Inspector for the month of December 1910,which were read and ordered filed . Unfinished business : The Mayor laid before the Council the following ordinances: An ordinance making an appropriation of $ 5,000.00 to pay salaries of Officers and Employees of the City,not including Street,Fire,Police, Sanitary,Hospital,Park or Cemetery Depts ,for the month of Jany & Feb 1911. The ordinance was read the third time and passed by the following vote : Yeas Mayor Wooldridge,Councilmen Bartholomew,Gracy,Hart & Powell Nays none. An ordinance appropriating the sum of $ 3,500.00 for the purpose of paying salaries of regular employees Police Dept for Jany & Feby 1911. The Council then recessed subject to call of the Mayor. January 13th 1910. The Council was called to order by the Mayor. Present Mayor Wooldridge, Councilmen Bartholomew & Hart 3 Absent Councilmen Gracy & Powell On motion of Councilman Hart a fine assessed in the Recorders Court against Grant Jennings,amounting to $ 14.80 ,was remitted by the following vote: Yeas Mayor Wooldridge,Councilmen Bartholomew & Hart 3 Absent Councilmen Gracy & Powell 2 The Council recessed subject to call of the Mayor. --- Page break --- 637 January 17th 1911. The Council was called to order by the Mayor with all members present, except, Councilman Powell. Councilman Bartholomew offered the following resolution: [illegible] to [illegible] at a [illegible] [illegible] [illegible] [illegible] Resolved that the Supt of Parks and Public Property be authorized to advertise for bids for the construction of a filtering trench according to plans and specifica-tions prepared by Engineer H C. Welborn from the well near the Pumping station to a distance of about 500 feet in a westerly direction towards the I & O N R R Bridge. The resolution was adopted by the following vote: Yeas Mayor Wooldridge, Councilman Bartholomew, Gracey & Hart 4 Absent Councilman Powell 1 The Council then adjourned. Jno. O. Johnson City Clerk
