642 Regular meeting of the City Council : Austin,Texas ,January 26, 1911. The Council was called to order by the Mayor: Roll called : Present Mayor Wooldridge,Councilmen Bartholomew,Gracy,Hart & Powell 5 Absent none. Memorials,Petitions,tec : Petition from Citizens The Mayor laid before the Council a petition from Citizens asking West Austin School to have certain street work done in front of the West Austin school building,which was read and taken under advisement. The Mayor laid before the Council a protest of Citizens living on Protest Citizens Paving Rio Grande street , protesting against the paving of said street,which Rio Grande Street was read and laid over for future attention. Unfinished business : Ordinance Regulating The Mayor laid,before the Council an ordinance to regulate the sale of Sale of Foodstuffs Food-stuffs within certain Districts ,etc,which was read the second New Business time. Councilman Bartholomew moved to lay the ordinance on the table, which motion was lost by the following vote : Yeas Councilmen Bartholomew & Powell 2 Nays Mayor Wooldridge,Councilmen Gracy & Hart 3 New business : Councilman Powell.offered the following resulotion : Be it resolved by the City Council of the City of Austin : Grades Henderson That the following grades be and the same are hereby established as the Street 6th to Shoal permanent grades of Henderson street from sixth street to Shoal Creek , Creek. the elevations having been taken from the top of the curbing at the northwest corner of sixth streetand Henderson street; assumed elevation 100: North side of sixth street 99.75 Fill .6' 200 ft north of sixth street .99.75 " 1.5 ' Greatest fill between these points 2.45 ' 250 feet north of sixth street 100.00 " .2' 250 " " " " 100.5 Unchanged 450 " " " " 101.0 Cut.35 ' 500 " " " " 101.0 unchanged 550 " " " " 100.4 Cut .37' 650 " " " " 98.7 Fill.95 ' 800 " " " " 97.4 " .3 The above line of grades is for the center of the street . Purchase Mules By Councilman Powell an ordinance appropriating the sum of $800.00 for $800. the purpose of purchasing Mules .The ordinance was read the first time and the rule suspended and it placed on its second reading by the following vote.: Yeas Mayor Wooldridge,Councilmen Bartholomew ,Gracy,Hart & Powell 5 Nays none. The ordinance was read the second time and laid over. The Council then recessed until 2 P.M.this day.

Jany 28th 1911. The Council was called to order by the Mayor with all members present Councilman Hart presented the petition of Harrison Henderson asking to have a fine assessed against him in the Recorders Court refunded. Councilman Hart moved that the fine be NOT remitted, which motion prevailed by the following vote: Yeas Mayor Wooldridge, Councilmen Bartholomew, Gracy, Hart & Nay Councilman Powell 1 The Council then recessed subject to call of the Mayor.

644 Januari 31st 1911. The Council was called to order by the Mayor with all members present except Councilman Powell.
The Mayor laid before the Council a petition from Abner Bankston,asking A.B. Bankston to erect awning. permission to erect an Awning in front of his store on the north side of East sixth street east of Comal street.
On motion the petition was granted, revocable at the pleasure of the Council, by the following vote : Yeas Mayor Wooldridge, Councilmen Bartholomew, Gracy & Hart 4 Absent Councilman Powell 1
The Mayor laid before the Council petition from S L Costley ,asking to Refunded to S.L. Costley for mule sold from Pound. have paid over to him amount ( over expenses) for which a mule was sold from the pound, together with his affidavit as to ownership of said mule.
The petition was granted by the following vote : Yeas Mayor Wooldridge, Councilmen Bartholomew, Gracy & Hart 4 Absent Councilman Powell 1
. Amount refunded $ 8.00 The Council then adjourned.
