Regular meeting of the City Council : Austin,Texas March 02, 1911. The Council was called to order by the Mayor : Roll called : Present Mayor Wooldridge,Councilmen Bartholomew,Gracy,Hart & Powell 5 Absent none. Councilman Hart presented a petition from Citizens in the NorthEastern portion of the City ,asking an extension of the Pound Limits,which was read and referred to Councilmen Hart & Powell. The Council then recessed until tomorrowmorning. Austin,March 3rd 1911. The Council was called to order by the Mayor,with all members present. The Minutes of the last regular and subsequent recessed meetings were read and approved. Petitions,Memorials,etc: Employees Water & Light The Mayor laid before the Council a petition from Certain Employees of the Water Dept ask increase & Light Dept,asking an increase of wages,which was read and taken under advisein wages. -ment. The Mayor laid before the Council the Budget for the year 1911,which was read the third time. Councilman Hart moved to strike out in Item 2 Dept H the words " Veterinary services",which motion prevailed by the following vote : Yeas Mayor Wooldridge,Councilmen Bartholomew,Gracy,Hart & Powell 5 Nays none. Budget from 1911 Mayor Wooldridge offered the following resolution: Amended . Be it resolved by the City Council of the city of Austin: That the sum of $ 2,750.entered in the budget for the year 1911 for a reinforced culvert over Little Shoal creek between Nueces and West 5th street of this City, as an item of general street improvements,be transferred from its present listing in the budget and made an item of expenditure against the Permanent Paving fund. Resolved further: That the salary of Inspector for permanent work ,likewise charged to the general street improvement fund,be transferred and made an appropriation against the Permanent Paving fund ;The resolution was adopted by the following vote: Requisition in West Streets Mayor Wooldridge moved to reconsider the resolution passed February 25th 1911, to Culverts for paving instructing the Supt of Streets and Public Improvements to contract for the Certain Streets paving of Certain parts of streets and alleyswith Bithulithic pavement,which motion prevailed by the following vote : Yeas Mayor Wooldridge,Councilmen Bartholomew,Gracy,Hart & Powell 5 Nays none. Mayor Wooldridge offered the following resolution : Be it resolved by the City Council of the City of Austin : [illegible] That the Superintendent of Streets and Public Improvements is hereby instructed [illegible] for paving to advertise for the paving of the following parts of streets and parts of alleys [illegible] in this City.The paving of said parts of streets and parts of alleys is to be made of Bithulithic ,Vitrified Brick,Wood . . Blocks,or other material,as to the Council may seem best: Streets. --------------- Fourth street from Colorado st on the West to Trinity st on the East. Mayor Wooldridge offered the following resolution: Be it resolved by the City Council of the City of Austin : That a cordial invitation beand is hereby extended to the State Association Invitation of Sheriffs Convention should hold annual Meeting in this City. of Texas Sherriffs'to hold their annual Convention for the year 1911 in this City. Should the Sheriffs honor us with their presence at their next Convention,the hospitality of this City is here pledged to their generous entertainment. The Council was called to order by the Mayor, with all members present. The Mayor laid before the Council a bill of Theodor Low for damages to premises in North damages. on East 7th street, caused by water, amounting to $ 17.00, which was allowed and ordered paid out of the Street Improvement fund, by the following vote : Yeas Mayor Wooldridge, Councilmen Bartholomew, Gracy, Hart & Powell 5 Nays none. The Mayor laid before the Council copy of a proposed amendment to the Amendment to City Charter ordered City Charter, which the City Attorney was directed to have introducedin the Presented to Legislature Legislature for passage by that Body, : Yeas Mayor Wooldridge, Councilmen Bartholomew, Gracy, Hart & Powell 5 Nays none. . On motion of Councilman Bartholomew the Supt of Parks and Public Supt of work Dept To purchase Hydrants Property was ordered to purchase 50, or more, Fire Hydrants and pay for same out of the Earnings Fund, by the following vote : Yeas Mayor Wooldridge, Councilmen Bartholomew, Gracy, Hart & Powell 5 Nays none.
