674 .(6) For the Sixth ward,the place of election shall be the County Court House,and the following named persons are hereby appointed Officers of said election: S.L. Yonn-Presiding'Judge,R.P.Bell,Asst Judge,Pat Malmo Asst Judge, W P Reilly Clerk,W J McNamara Clerk,Jim Clinefelter Clerk. (7) For the seventh ward ,the place of election shall be Walker's residence ,and the following named person's are hereby appointed Officers of said election:s H A Turner Presiding Judge,N B Mets Asst Judge, H A Herzog Asst Judge, Geo S Dowell Clerk,Henry Wallesch,Clerk,Jim H Cummings,Clerk. Section 2. That the Judges and Clerks ,above named shall serve for a pers period of two years and until their successors are appointed,unless sooner removed,and shall conduct all elections held for municipal pur -poses within the City of Austin during said time. The resolution was adopted by the following vote: Yeas--Mayor Wooldridge,Councilmen Bartholomew,Gracy,Hart & Powell 5 Nays none. . . The Council then recessed subject to call of the Mayor.

The Council was called to order by the Mayor with all members presentexcept Councilman Gracy.
The Mayor laid before the Council the following resolutio: Section ordered. on proposition Austin Dam & Suburban and R.R. Co to lay additional tracks Be it resolved by the City Council of the City of Austin,on the applica-tion and petition of the Austin Dam and Suburban Railway Company,a corpora- -tion existing under and by virtue of the laws of the State of Texas,that at the next general municipal election to be held in said City of Austin, to-wit:on the third day of April A D 1911,the following proposition shall ,in all things,be submitted to the qualified voters of said City: Preposition . Shall the City Council of the City of Austin pass and enact an ordinance granting said Austin Dam and Suburban Railway Company a franchise, authorizing and empowering it to extend and lay additional tracksfor railroad purposes over and across Bowie Street in said City of Austin about fifty feet north of said third street,said Bowie street being an intersecting streeter way of said thirdstreet:tolaytrack over and across West Avenue in said City of Austinat or near its intersection with Fourth streeten an embankment formerly occupied by the said Austin Dam and Sub-urban Railway Company;and to lay track in and over Cypress or third street in said City of Austin at a point near its intersection with FanninnStreet.and that its said tracks and line of railway may form a connection with the track and line of the International & Great Northern Railroad Company now located in and extending over and along said Cypress or Third Street in said City of Austin,the actual and proposed location of said tracks and each of them being more fully and accurately shown by the plat or sketch attached to the petition of the said Austin Dam and Suburban Railway Company,which is here referred to and made a part of this resolution.

675 .Now,Therefore,in obedience to the above and foregoing resolution,the City Clerk of said City of Austin shall,as directed by Charter,cause a copy of the foregoing Resolution and Preposition to be published at least three times in a daily News-paper published in the City of Austin ,the first of which publications shall not be more than twenty nor less than ten days before the next general election held in and forsaid City of Austin. The resolution was adopted by the following vote : Yeas Mayor Wooldridge,Councilmen Bartholomew,Hart & Powell 4 Absent Councilman Gracy 1 The Council then recessed subject to call of the Mayor.
Austin March 11th 1911. The Council was called to order by the Mayor with all members present. A delegation consisting of S C Granberry and others appeared before the Council and requested the Council to remove one of Judges Gilly, O'Liffey appointed in each of the wards and substi-tute for them ,persons whom the friends of Mr McKinley might suggest . The Mayor laid before the Council the following resolution: Whereas,the Judges and Clerks appointed by the City Council to preside at the municipal elections for the next two years are,in the judgement of the Council, trustworthy,competent and ift men ,and, Whereas no objection has been made to either their trustworthiness or competency, and, Application to change Certain Judges & Clerks of Election Whereas the petition to remove one of the Judges in each ward was madeat a very late dateand without assigning any sufficient cause for so doing,and, Whereas the advocates of Messrs McKinley,Leekridge and Covert have the legal right to request the appointment,which will be made ,of a supervisor in their interest in each of the wards,therefore be it Resolved by the City Council of the City of Austin,that the request ed Mr S C Granberry,Chairman,to remove one of the Judges heretofore appointedin each of thewards and to substitute the name ofanother person for judge be and the same is hereby declined. The resolution owas adopted by the following vote : Yeas Mayor Wooldridge,Councilmen Bartholomew,Gracy,Hart & Powell 5 Nays none. The Council then adjourned. [illegible]
