680 . Regular meeting of the City Council : Austin,Texas,March 30, 1911. The Council was called to order by Councilman Bartholomew,Mayor Pro tem. Roll called: Present Councilmen Bartholomew,Gracy,Hart & Powell 4 Absent Mayor Wooldridge 1 The Minutes of the last regular and subsequent recessed meetings were read,corrected and adopted. Councilman Hart moved to remit a pound fee of $ 1.50 charged against Ricard Lehman be remitted,which motion prevailed by the following vote : Yeas Councilmen Bartholomew,Gracy,Hart & Powell 4 Nays none. Councilor Richard Lehman remitted Councilman Hart moved that the agreement heretofore made by the City and Mr S R Evans to sprinkle such streets as may be designated by the Supt of Police and Public Safety,be ratified by the Council,which motion prevailed by the following vote : Yeas Councilmen Bartholomew,Gracy,Hart & Powell 4 Nays none. The Council then recessed subject to call. for sprinkling contract awarded S R Evans March 30th 4.30 P M .The Council was called to order by Councilman Bartholomew,Mayor Pro Tem with all members present except Mayor Wooldridge. Councilman Powell offered the following resolution : Be it resolved by the City Council of the City of Austin : That the City Clerk is hereby authorized to put J P Murray,Assistant to the City Engineer ,on the monthly pay roll,salary at one hundred dollars ( $ 100.00 ) per month ;to be paid out of the General fund time commen-cing March 1st 1911. The resolution was adopted by the following vote : Yeas Councilmen Bartholomew,Gracy,Hart & Powell 4 Absent Mayor Wooldridge 1 J P Murray appointed Asst. Engineer Councilman Gracy offered the following resolution : Be it resolved by the City Council of the City of Austin : That the salaries of Oficers and Employees of the City for the year 1911,asfixed by the Budget adopted by the Council on the 7thday of March 1911,be and the same are hereby declared to be in force from and after March 1st 1911,and the City Clerk is hereby directed to draw warrants for said salaries for the month of March 1911 asfixed by the said Budget. The resolution was adopted by the following vote : Yeas Councilmen Bartholomew,Gracy,Hart & Powell 4 Absent Mayor Wooldridge 1. Salaries of new Officers and Employees Fixed date in take effect from and after March 1st. The Council then recessed subject to call. --- Page break --- 681 Saturday April 1st 1911. .The Council was called to order by the Mayor with all members present. The Mayor laid before the Council the following Resolution : Be it resolved by the City Council of the City of Austin : T C Davis That T C Davis be and he is hereby appointed Assistant Judge of Election in the sk appointed Judge sixth ward ,in place of Pat Malone,unable to serve. Election. The resolution was adopted by the following vote : Yeas Mayor Wooldridge,Councilmen Bartholomew,Gracy,Hart & Powell 5 Nays none. On the 24th of March 1911,the Council received a proposition from Proposition J C Dumont J C Dumont to rebuild the Dam at Austin,Texas,which proposition was declined by a To rebuild Dam The Council by the following vote : rejected Yeas Mayor Wooldridge,Councilmen Bartholomew,Gracy,Hart & Powell 5 Nays none. This proposition and the action thereon by the Council was not handed the Clerk until today ,hence did not appear in the minutes of that date. The Council then adjourned. Jno. C.
