Underground Utilities Approved:

• Regular meeting of the City Council : Austin,Texas, June 1st1911. The Council was called to order by the Mayor : Roll called : Present Mayor Wooldridge,Councilmen Bartholomew,Hart,Lockridge & Powell Absent none. The minutes of the last regular and subsequent recessed meeting were read and approved. Councilman Hart to whom was referred petitions from Citizens ,asking to have the Pound limits extended ,stated that as yet he was not prepared to report.
Unfinished business :
Dufstroller Conduits The Mayor laid before the Council an ordinance authorizingthe South Western Telegraph & Telephone Co to construct underground conduits throug across,along and under certain streets ,alleys and public grounds of the City of Austin,etc,which had been read the third time. The ordinance was then passed by the following vote : Yeas Mayor Wooldridge,Councilmen Bartholomew,Hart,Lockridge & Powell 5 Nays none.
New business: Yates. A C McMillan Mrs E J Clark. Councilman Lockridge offered the following resolution : Whereas, C A McMillan ,claiming to be the owner of Lot 2 Block 5,in the Driskill & Rainey Sub Division of a part of Out Lots 72 & 73 Div "E"in the City of Austin,assessed said lot and improvements for the year 1910,at $ 1125.00 ,and at the same time assessed personal property owned by him at $ 1130.00,and, Whereas, said McMillan at the time of said Assessment was owing the purchase money on said lot and has since conveyed said lot to Mrs E J Clark,in consideration of the cancellation of his purchase money notes and, Whereas, said McMillan failed to pay the 1910 taxes on saidlot and also failed to pay the taxes on said personal property,and, Whereas, said Mrs E J Clark,desires to pay the real estate tax and have said lot released as to the lien thereon by virtue of said person-al tax and Whereas, at the time of the 1910 assessment said lotwas the homestead of said McMillan ,and as such was liable only for the taxes thereon: Now Therefore : Be it resolved by the City Council of the City ofAustin: That the Assessor & collector of said City be and he is hereby instruct-ed to receive from the said Mrs E J Clark the taxes for 1910,assessed against said lot and improvements and issue to her a receipt in FULL for all taxes of 1910,assessed against said lot and improvements. The resolution was adopted by the following vote : Yeas Mayor Wooldridge,Councilmen Bartholomew,Hart,Lockridge & Powell 5 Nays none. The Council then recessed until 3 P M this day.

Austin,Friday June 2nd 1911. The Council was called to order by the Mayor with all members present.
Mrs N W Holden leave absence The Mayor laid before the Council the following resolution : Be it resolved by the City Council or the City of Austin : That a leave of absence be and the same is hereby granted to Mrs Nellie W Holden, Secretary of the United Charities Association,for the month of June ,1911. The resolution was adopted by the following vote : Yeas Mayor Wooldridge,Councilmen Bartholomew,Hart,Lockridge & Powell 5 Nays none.
Application for refunded to Jno Hottinger - The Mayor laid before the Council the following resolution : Be it resolved by the City Council of the City of Austin : That for sufficient reasons thereunto moving,the City Council hereby refunds to Jno G Hottinger two dollars ( $ 2.00) ,paid by him as license to be foot pedlar for theyear beginning Dec9,1910,and the City Clerk of the City of Austin is here authorized and instructed to draw warrent for said $ 2.00 ,and charge the same to the general contingent fund of the City of Austin. The resolution was adopted by the following vote : Yeas Mayor Wooldridge,Councilmen Bartholomew,Hart,Lockridge & Powell 5 Nays none.
The Council then recessed subject to call of the Mayor .
Saturday June 3rd 1911. The Council was called to order by the Mayor with all members present.
David Harrell Penalty on taxes remitted The Mayor laid before the Council the following resolution : It appeared to the satisfaction of the City Council that Mr David Harrell had, on May 31,1911, mailed his certain check to Fred Sterzing,Collector,in payment of taxes owing by himself and certain other persons represented by him to the City of Austin,Texas,which check was not promptly delivered through the Post Office department to the City Assessor and Collector on or before June 1st,1911,therefore Be it resolved by the City Council of the City of Austin : That the penalty of five per cent imposed against taxpayers who fail to pay their taxes on or before June 1st of each year,be and the same in this instance is hereby remitted. Be it further resolved : That a copy of this resolution be furnished by the City Clerk to the City Assessor & Collector. The resolution was adopted by the following vote : Yeas Mayor Wooldridge,Councilmen Bartholomew,Hart,Lookridge & Powell 5 Nays none. Austin Gas Co to By Councilman Lockridge an ordinance to repeal an ordinance authorizing the Austin close alley Gas Light Co to close the alley in Block 14,of the sub-division of the South half of Out Lot 2 Division "O",in the City of Austin,Texas,which ordinance was approved March 10,1910. The ordinance was read the first time and a vote taken on same ,which vote result -ed as follows: Yeas Councilman Lockridge 1
