749 . Regular meeting of the City Council: Austin, Texas, June 22, 1911. The Council was called to order by the Mayor: Roll called: Present Mayor Wooldridge, Councilmen Bartholomew, Hart & Lockridge 4 Absent Councilman Powell - 1 The minutes of the last regular and subsequent recessed meetings were read and approved. Councilman Powell entered the Council chamber. To Amend Pound ordinance By Councilman Hart an ordinance amending Article seven ( 7) ,Title two (2), Chapter two (2) of the Revised ordinances of the City of Austin, State of Texas, relating to the prevention of the running at large of certain live stock within the corporate limits of the City of Austin, within certain limits, and repealing the amendment to said article passed July 20th 1909, for the violation of which a penalty is provided. The ordinance was read the first time and passed under suspension of the rules by the following vote: Yeas Mayor Wooldridge, Councilmen Bartholomew, Hart, Lockridge 4 Nays Councilman Powell 1 The Council then recessed subject to call of the Mayor. Monday June 26th 1911- The Council was called to order by the Mayor with all members present. The Mayor laid before the Council the following resolution: Be it resolved by the City Council of the City of Austin: Pat Citizens to build That the petition of Geo Southernwood, A W Griffith and Mrs Naomi McCleery, for To put in sidewalk a four foot concrete sidewalk in front of their several properties on the north 4 feet side of Sixth street between Rio Grande and West Avenue ,be and the same is hereby declined. The resolution was adopted by the following vote: Yeas Mayor Wooldridge, Councilmen Bartholomew, Hart, Lockridge & Powell 5 Nays none. The Council then recessed subject to call of the Mayor. Tuesday June 27th 1911. The Council was called to order by the Mayor with all members present. Councilman Hart offered the following resolution: Be it resolved by the City Council of the City of Austin: Police Officers That the Officers and Patrolmen of the Police department be and they are each granted for 10 days granted (10) tendays leave of absence , with pay, the time of absence from duty in Leave absence. each case to be fixed and regulated by the Chief of Police and the Superintendent of Police and Public Safety, so that a sufficient number of men are at all times on duty to preserve the peace, and the effiseney of the department may not be affected. The resolution was adopted by the following vote: Yeas Mayor Wooldridge, Councilmen Bartholomew, Hart, Lockridge & Powell 5 Nays none. Councilman Bartholomew offered the following resolution: Leave absence Be it resolved by the City Council of the City of Austin: Wm Sexton That a leave of absence be and is hereby granted to W A Alff, City Sexton, for the --- Page break --- 750 period of ten days, beginning July 4th 1911.
