764 Dougherty fine remit fine Addie Rysinger fine remitted Ray McDonald Paving Regulating Theaters Circuses etc. Art 1073-1075 repealed ordinances repealed M K & T Rock Island Prof. A.C. Scott employed Electrical Engineer --- Page break --- . to prepare a statement concerning possible economic City Water,Light and Power Plant;and also as Consulting Engineer on other matters affecting the Water,Light and Power.Department,his compensation to be $ 50.00 per month,the City to pay his railroad expenses for a not greater distance than Dallas to Austin and return and hotel expenses while in Austin. The resolution was adopted by the following vote: Yeas Mayor Woolbridge,Councilmen Bartholomew,Hart,Lockridge & Powell 5 Nays none. The Council then recessed subject to call of the Mayor. July 18th 1911 The Council was called to order by the Mayor with all members present: Councilman Lockridge presented bids for painting at the City Hospital as follows: Brydson & Hill Bid No 1 $ 253.40 No 2 $ 243.00 E W Garner . 122.50 . 127.50 T B Cheek & Co .165.00 150.00 W C Fruth & J C Adrian Jr .303.95. J S Richbourg 225.00 250.00 or both $ 450.00 On motion the bids were referred to Councilmen Lockridge & Hart for investigation and report. Mayor Woolbridge offered the following resolution: Be it resolved by the City Council of the City of Austin: That permission is here granted to S W Newman to place a screen or cloth awning in front of the storehouse now occupied by him at No 400 East Sixth street,said awning not to be nearer than nine (9) feet from the sidewalk. The resolution was adopted by the following vote: Yeas Mayor Woolbridge,Councilmen Bartholomew,Hart,Lockridge & Powell 5 Nays none. Mayor Woolbridge offered the following resolution: That permission be and is hereby granted to Rev J A Mlusa,Pastor of the Mexican Baptist Church of this City,to erect and maintain for use for religious purposes a cloth tent,capacity to seat four hundred persons,from July 17th to 27th inclu-sive,at and upon the southwest quarter of the City Park,situated between Guadupe and San Antonio streets,and fourth and fifth streets of this City. The resolution was adopted by the following vote: Yeas Mayor Woolbridge,Councilmen Bartholomew,Hart,Lockridge & Powell 5 Nays none. The Council then adjourned. Jno. O. Johnson City Clerk
