Friday August 18, 1911 The Council was called to order by the Mayor with all members present. Councilman Bartholomew presented bids for Turbines for the Water & Light Plant, as follows to wit: Alias Chalmers Co. General Electric Co. Bid No. 1: $14,832.39 Bid No. 2: $14,257.50 Westinghouse Co. Bid No. 1: 15,284.00 Bid No. 2: Also bids for Condensers, as follows: Reaves & Skinner Condenser Circulating Pump $ 5,000.00 1,374.00 Smith & Whitney Condenser Circulating Pump 5,489.00 1,276.00 A.M. Lockett & Co. Condenser Bid No. 1 $5,354.00 Bid No. 2: $4,869.00 Circulating Pump 933.00 Wheeler Condenser & Eng. Co. Condenser Circulating Pump $5,050.50 981.00 Councilman Bartholomew moved that the contract for Turbine be awarded to the Alias Chambers Co., which motion prevailed by the following vote: Yeas mayor Wooldridge, Councilmen Bartholomew, Hart, Lockridge & Powell Nays None --- Page break --- Councilman Bartholomew moved that the contract for Condenser and Pump be awarded to the Worthington Co. which motion prevailed by the following vote: Yeas Mayor Wooldridge, Councilmen bartholomew, hart, Lockridge & Powell Nays None The Council then recessed subject to call of the Mayor.
