Adjourned . regular meeting of the City Council : Austin, Texas, Sept 8'th 1913. The Council was called to order by the Mayor: Roll called : Present Mayor Wooldridge, Councilmen Anthony, Bartholomew, Haynes & Powell 5 Absent none.
Mayor & Council pledge to enforce Criminal Laws Mayor Wooldridge offered the following resolution : Whereas, we as Mayor and Councilmen of the City of Austin, Texas, regard the criminal laws of the State of Texas as applying to this City and binding upon us under our oaths of office; and, Whereas, we as Mayor and Councilmen , deem it our duty to aid in the enforcement of said criminal laws without distinction or difference whenever called upon so to do. Now Therefore , Be it resolved by the City Council of the City of Austin : That we as Councilmen stand with the Mayor of this City in his purpose and intention to enforce in this City the criminal laws of this State; and, Resolved further: That we as Councilmen hereby pledge to the Mayor our personal and efficient aid and support in his work of enforcing said criminal laws in our midst . The resolution was adopted by the following vote : Yeas Mayor Wooldridge, Councilmen Anthony, Bartholomew, Haynes & Powell 5 Nays none. The Council then adjourned . Geo C Johnson City Clerk.
