Regular meeting of the City Council : Austin, Texas, November 20, 1913. The Council was called to order by the Mayor: Roll called : Present Mayor Wooldridge, Councilmen Anthony, Bartholomew, Haynes & Powell 5 Absent none. The minutes of the last regular and subsequent recessed meetings were read and adopted . Petition of Wm Miller to have the alley in Block No 30 Div "E" opened to its full width through said block was read and referred to Councilman Powell and the City Engineer.
Reports: The Mayor laid before the Council the report of the Supt of the Water & Light Dept for the month of October 1913, The Supt of the Street Dept report of expenditures from the Permanent Street Fund, and from the Sanitary Sewer fund , for the months of Sept and Oct 1913, and that of the Sanitary Inspector for Oct 1913, which were read and ordered filed.
Councilman Powell offered the following resolution : Be it resolved by the City Council of the City of Austin: Transfer funds That the sum of one hundred and fifteen and 27/100 ($ 115.27) dollars be transferred out of the Sanitary Sewer fund to the Permanent Street Improvement fund to reimburse said fund for amounts erroneously drawn out of said fund. The resolution was adopted by the following vote : Yeas Mayor Wooldridge, Councilmen Anthony, Bartholomew, Haynes & Powell 5 Nays none. Barkers Garage The Mayor laid before the Council a bill of Barkers Garage, against L A Palmer, Plumbing bill Palmer Inspector, amounting to $ 18.40, which was allowed and ordered paid by the City, by the paid following vote: Yeas Mayor Wooldridge, Councilmen Anthony, Bartholomew, Haynes & Powell 5 Nays none. Anderson & Benson Councilman Bartholomew laid before the Council a bill of Anderson & Benson, against Pat bill Pat Cain Cain, amounting to $ 15.05, which was allowed and ordered paid by the City by the paid following vote: Yeas Mayor Wooldridge, Councilmen Anthony, Bartholomew, Haynes & Powell 5 Nays none. Councilman Bartholomew presented the following bids for Lignite to be used at the Water & Light Plant as follows: Texas Fuel Co of Waco, represented by R W Peckham, Lignite for the year 1914, at $ 1.40 Beaumont-Calvert, represented by Allen Whitley, Lignite for the year 1914, $ 1.73 per ton f o b Austin. Ryan & Perry , Rockdale, Lignite for the 7 months ending July 31st 1914, $ 1.36 per ton Bids for Lignite f o b Austin,fxturxthex5memtkxandingx,also an alternative bid for the 7months ending July 31st 1914, $ 1.36 per ton f o b Austin, and for the 5 months ending Dec 31st 1914, $ 1.48 per ton f o b ,Austin,with the option of said Ryan & Perry of extending said contract for the 6 months ending June 30th 1915, at $ 1.48 per ton f o b Austin, on written notice of 30 days that said Ryan & Perry wished to extend said contract . Ryan & Perry On motion of Councilman Bartholomew the alternative bid of Ryan & Perry was accepted Contract and the Mayor authorized to enter into contract with Ryan & Perry in accordance with said Lignite bid; said Ryan & Perry being required to furnish bond in the sum of $ 5,000.00, for the faithful carrying out of said contract.

C54 Beiderwolf people Signs ✓ • The resolution was adopted by the following vote: Yeas Mayor Woolldridge, Councilmen Anthony, Bartholomew, Haynes & Powell 5 Nays none. • The Mayor laid before the Council the following resolution : Be it resolved by the City Council of the City of Austin : That the Beiderwolf Tabernakle peopleare hereby granted the right to place as many as a half dozen "A"signs,bearing suitable inscriptions thereupon ,at various places on the streets and other public places in the City, for such period of time as they may desire,up to January 1st 1914. ✓ Be it further resolved : That this privilege is revocable at the pleasure of the City Council. Councilman Powell offered the following resolution : Linss Pease Park ✓ Whereas, on May 20th ,A D 1875, E M Pease and Wife, duly conveyed by deed Establishment to the City of Austin, 23 acres,more or less, for use as a pleasure park, the-bon boundary lines of which ,together with certain reference trees, being clearly described in said deed; and, Whereas, in the course of time, said reference trees have been removed or des-troyed, and have disappeared, and their places cannot now be accurately located, and it having become necessary to clearly define the outline of said Pease Park, including the portions bordering upon Windsor Road and the Pease estate; Therefore, Be it resolved by the City Council of the City of Austin : That the boundary line of said Park be agreed upon ,determined and established as follows: Beginning at a monument on the easterly side of Windsor Road ,or Avenue, at the most northerly corner of Lot No 2 on the map attached to the original deed of conveyance ,dated May 20th 1875. Thence North 45 degrees,57 minutes west along the northerly side of said road 665 feet to a monument. Thence N 24 degrees,17 minutes west along said road, 453 feet to a monument. Thence still along said road N.32 degrees, 42 minutes west369 7/10 feet to a monument located 6 feet to the southward of a large Elm tree. Thence S 69 degrees,30 minuteseast 650 feet to a monument in center of Shoal Creek. Thence down center of said creek 1900 feet , more or less, to a monument. Thence N 59 degrees,30 minutes west 520 feet to a monumentand thence N 67 degrees,30 minutes west 500 feet to the place of beginning. All as shown on map attached to this resolution , and to be recorded therewith. Mayor Wooldridge offered the following resolution : Be it resolved by the City Council of the City of Austin : That typhoid, typhus and allied fever diseases of these types, be and the same are hereby declared to be reportable diseases. Be it further resolved: Physician Ordered to report diseases That the Physicians of the City of Austin are hereby directed and instructed to report all cases of typhoid, typhus or allied fever diseases of these classes coming under their personal care and treatment to the City Physician.
